Best shower valve diverter for shower column for new project

Asked by: Blake
Hi Blake, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company about R10000-PXBX! Our Delta Faucet rough valve would require a diverter, I have included below the installation information. With the 58420-PR Shower Column, this includes a diverter to divert water from the hand shower to the shower head. There are no additional items you would need to purchase besides a hand shower and shower head. Please contact us directly if you have any questions or need additional assistance. Is this valve only for a shower no deverter?

Asked by: Randy smith
Hi Randy smith, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! The R10000-PXBX would allow for hot on left, Cold on right, Tub spout from bottom, and shower head from top port. The installation of a diverter tub spout would allow for water to go to the tub spout first, the diverted to the shower head. I installed what a believe it to be a multi choice shower rough (R10000 pxbx) it controls the hot/cold water and the wand for the shower.  When I turn the cold water on very strong stream, when I turn to the Hot it dribbles out  your thoughts

Asked by: frank
Hi, Thank you for contacting us back, I have included the flushing instructions below. To flush the open valve without the cartridge, please follow the directions below. 1) Remove the handle by loosening the set screw on the side of the base of the handle. The set screw is either a 1/8" or 3/32" Allen screw. So you will need to use the appropriate size Allen wrench to loosen it. Loosen it just enough to be able to easily pull the handle off. * Note. If there is calcium build-up at the base of the handle, it may be necessary to soak it in a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water. Simply saturate the rag with the 50/50 solution, wrap it around the handle base and place a plastic bag over it. I would recommend do this the night before removing the handle. 2) After removing the handle, remove the trim sleeve. 3) Then you will need to remove the bonnet nut. The bonnet nut is the threaded ring at the valve opening. It unscrews counterclockwise. You will need a pipe wrench or a pair of channel locks. 4) After removing the bonnet nut, you will need to pull the cartridge straight out. You may need a small, skinny bladed screwdriver to wedge in between the lip of the cartridge and the valve to help start it out. 5) Once the cartridge is removed, you will have an open valve body. 6) Next, shut the shower door or curtain and turn the water on to the valve. Water should gush out, much like an open fire hydrant. Have someone observe if there is good water pressure coming out of the valve and let it flush for 30 seconds. 7) Re-install the cartridge and re-assemble in reverse of how it was disassembled. The Tub/Shower should then have a good flow. If it does not, the cartridge will need to be replaced. Please contact us back if you have any questions or need further assistance. We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to serve you. Best Regards, Thenar Digital Communications Specialist

how do i adjust valve to allow water hotter

Asked by: mike
Hi Mike, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model R10000-PX MultiChoice® Universal Tub / Shower Rough - PEX Crimp. We will be happy to assist you as quickly as possible. A trim kit used with this valve would include a rotational limit stop as a safety feature that should be adjusted during installation. Removing the handle and rotating the RLS counterclockwise will increase the maximum amount of hot water that can be mixed. See the installation instructions for your trim kit series for more information: 13/14: https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/107528%20Rev%20D.pdf 17: https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/107529%20Rev%20D.pdf 17T: https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/107530%20Rev%20C.pdf Please contact us directly if you have any questions or need additional assistance. Going crazy trying to figure out what I need from all of the code letters! I think I have most figure out, but what is "L" (Lowes only?), "BX" (what does single box mean?), and what is PF (what does pre-fab mean)? Thanks!!

Asked by: Joey
Thank you Kyla, However there are PFs without the tub spout connection (blocked off? unusable?). For versions without the BX some don't say must be purchased in bulk (12) and some do say it, so it's ambiguous. There are versions that are not WS but have stops in the picture. But I think I can figure it out. Thanks again!

Hello, I just ordered trim kit T17497-R & am not sure which MultiChoice Universal Rough-in Valve to order for my plumber to install.  Please advise

Asked by: Sharyn
Hi Sharyn, Thank you for your question! I am happy to help find the right valve rough for your T17497-R trim. The most common model for a MultiChoice R10000 tub and shower valve is R10000-UNBX. The universal inlet connections are for 1/2" thread iron pipe or 1/2" copper pipe. Model R10000-UNWS is similar but with integrated shut-offs that can make later maintenance easier. R10000-PXBX is another option with Pex crimp inlet connections and universal outlets. This would be a good choice if you have a PEX crimping tool for PEX water supply hoses. Please reach out with any additional questions! Best Regards, Bryan Digital Communications Specialist
