Rated 1 out of 5 by from Low quality product. No warranty. Low quality product. Made to break. Shut off screw got stuck upon installation. Delta wouldn’t reimburse me because they claimed it was physical damage. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy delta. You will save time and money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slow drip Bathroom remodel 3 weeks ago, plumber installed this valve (purchased through HD) for us. It has a slow drip even with the lever fully in the off position. We even removed the shower head and blew out the shower head pipe so that there was no water and we still have a slow drip. We don't know what to do at this point and wonder if the valve is faulty...maybe we got a lemon!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wrong part When the plumber began putting together the shower, he said the threads on one of the parts had a manufacture error. We ended up having to purchase ANOTHER valve and will have to pay the plumber even more to come back and to finish the job. Our project is now delayed and we are out even more money. Very disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tons of dripping water from shower head Since we purchased this and installed it (with the Dryden tub/shower faucet), it hasn't worked. We have had 2 plumbers come and try to "fix" the issue, but it won't divert the water properly, so the water from the shower head runs even when we are trying to get the tub faucet to run. It's been a real challenge to get fixed. If this is supposed to work with the faucet as listed, it should work! But this has been a really big headache for us.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shower Valve Seems to be doing its job. Nice to have service stops (water shutoff controls) at the valve site so the building super does not have to shut water off to the entire line if repairs/adjustments to the fixtures are needed

Q&A

In a 1-pc. fiberglass shower/tub , what size holes are needed for single lever faucet and tub spout ?

I am installing a 1755rb-716rb set and have to drill holes for valve and spout .
Asked by: Doug
Hi Doug, Thank you for your question! The hole for the valve should be cut to the size of the plaster guard which is 4" x 4". The hole for the size of the tub spout should be at least 1/2" for the pipe to fit through and no larger than the diameter of the tub spout, which is 3 1/8" on this model. what model of cartridge it needs

Asked by: transito
Thank you for your question, transito! The R10000-UN rough in body, can be used with Delta valve trims in the 13/14,17 and 17T series. Each trim would included a compatible cartridge, that would fit inside the valve. Best Regards, Benjamin

R10000 Rough in Body w/Stops version. (17T)

On either side of the valve body, there are two (2) mechanical stem and nut assemblies. I assume, when turning the stem(s) clockwise, and the stem(s) bottom out, this will stop the flow of water completely. Conversely, if I turn the stem counter-clockwise the flow of water increases. How can I tell, without backing the stem out further than need be, will I get full flow? Instructions say " adjust stem clockwise to close, and counterclockwise to open". I'm not sure if I understand the purpose of these stops. Thanks
Asked by: Rick
Hi Rick, Thank you for your question. These stops are designed to turn the water off directly at the valve during installation or repairs. They should be left in the open position when the trim is installed, as the cartridge will be used to turn the water on and off. Best regards, Jon

Can I exceed the 18 inch max distance from valve to tub spout

I will be mounting a tub spout very near the floor of a shower stall and a rain head from the ceiling. I want to use the spout to drain the pipe to shower head and to let water warm up before diverting flow to rain head. The distance from valve to tub spout will be about 36 inches (3 times the max). Should I increase the size of the spout supply to 3/4 to reduce pressure so I don't have water flow through rain head until diverter is closed.
Asked by: Jon
Dear Jon, Thank you for your question. When using the Delta MultiChoice Universal Rough-In valve R10000-UN, the length between the valve and the tub spout has to be between 8"-18". If it is more than 18", you will have a situation called shower rise where water comes out of the showerhead when you only have the tub spout running. Best regards, Tanya

How do I determine which style valve I need (R10000-???)

Replacing existing rough valve that broke (moron who installed originally did not use stringer to support, valve just hung in mid-air by copper tubing). I have copper 1/2" tubing w/ soldered connections, Delta T13 Series Tub & Shower. Access to the back of valve through 2x4 framed wall w/ drywall. Fiberglass one-piece tub/shower.
Asked by: Craig
Thank you for your question. Since you are mounting this on a fiberglass shower, we would recommend using the R10000-UNWSBXT for a thin wall mounting.

What cartridges can be used for the valve';

Asked by: Dmead009
Hi Dmead009, Thank you for your question. The R10000-UN multichoice universal rough uses our 13/14 series cartridge RP46074, our 17 series dual function cartridge RP46463, and our 17T thermostatic cartridge RP47201. You need the appropriate trim that matches each cartridge. Thanks, Dave

I have the R10000-UNWS (with stops). After rough-in and cartridge, how far out to I need to unscrew the stops? I am getting low flow and wondering if I didn't unscrew them far enough, but I was worried they would come out of the body. Or do they stop?

Asked by: Hugh
Hi, Hugh! Thank you for your question. The screw stops on the R10000-UNWS will stop turning when fully open. You can turn the stops clockwise up to three full turns from the open position without a noticeable reduction in flow. Best Regards, Rosanna

What is considered the "finished wall" for installing a Delta R10000 Multi Choice value in an acrylic walk in shower unit??

For installing with a MAXX shower unit, the plasterguard should be flushed with the acrylic wall section (that is, the same as if you were installing with a tiled wall)?
Asked by: Jerry67
Hi Jerry67, Thank you for your question. That is correct! The finished wall will be the final surface after everything is installed. The acrylic wall section would be considered the finished wall in your installation. Best regards, Jon
