Quality Rough-in Valve (Explicit and Clear Installation Instructions)
It works. You need to explicitly follow the instructions as installing this exactly as required is critically important. Making sure the plasterboard ends up flush or back a 1/4" from the surface of the finished surround is very important. The hot and cold stops work very well and make for easier maintenance. On most installations you won't need the plasterboard once you have the valve permanently in place, but it is a great guide to mounting this properly. It is all in the instructions which have plenty of excellent diagrams and figures. Some of the best instructions I have seen for a product. Finally, this vendor's website and presentation made it easy to find and know that I was buying the right valve.

plumber said it was far better far than what you would get at a big box
My plumber remarked that the quality of this item was far better and had extra qualities for less than I would have paid at one of the big box stores. My only hiccup came from UPS; they held the product in Raleigh for 24hrs then transferred to the local PO who again held it for 24hrs. A waiting plumber is costly. Faucet Direct was speedy with processing and shipping, so no fault with FD.

Why change a good thing.
We ahve install so many of these valves we can pop them in in minutes. I have never had them fail. I have had the valve protion be defective but Delta is good about send out a replacement. I wish they would send them to directly to me the contractor rather than only sending them to the home owner once the unit is installed. I purchased the unit, I suggested it, I installed it and I service it free of charge if there is a problem, send the valve to me.

We were confused by the details of the Delta faucet we purchased that we would need this additional part as it kept popping up saying we did. Anyway, we bought it and it was delivered separately, however, this part is included in the package already with the Delta faucet set we purchased. Should have spent a lot more time reading small print and details. The part itself was fine if one should need it.

This valve works with most of their tub or shower faucet trim.
It is easy to install even if you get the hot and cold crossed you can turn the inner portion over and it automatically resolves the problem.

Great product, Faucet direct website recomended wrong valve
Just purchased the R10000-UNBX Delta Universal valve as part of ordering a shower only control and shower head. The website said this was the model needed. However this model is used for Shower and Tub combinations not shower only. I will be returning and getting R10000 UNWSHF. The WS is a great feature that shuts the water off so you can work on the faucet without turning off the water. The HF is High Flow and means the port to the tub is already blocked. An added feature is the connections have male threads on outside. If you want to sweat the lines you need a different model.

we have a T14232 with a R10000-UNBX do you have a thermostatic type?

Is this the right part to use with copper tubing. Is that the difference between the UNBXT and the UNBX?
Thank you for your question! All "UN" versions of the R10000 valve will have connections that accept 1/2" thread or 1/2" sweat. The UNBXT version includes a thin wall mounting kit, which the UNBX does not. If you have the trim kit, the escutcheon plate and the plaster guard provide enough support for the valve so that the thin wall kit is not needed.

Installation?
The pic for R10000UNBXT looks like RP47202 is integral to it.
The generic installation says I may need a RP47202 for thin wall installation.
What is your definition of "thin wall"?
How is R10000UNBXT installed that RP47202 is needed or and advantage?
Thank you for your question. One example of a thin wall would be Fiberglass. Installation instructions are included with Delta part #RP47202. The valve body assembly with thin wall support are installed against back of the mounting surface. The thin wall plate is mounted against the wall with self tapping screws. This installation acts as a support.

I ordered the R10000-UNBX for the shower, no tub.the tub is in another area. I RECEIVED R10000-UNBXT. IS THIS CORRECT TO USE?
Thank you for your question, Rose! I do apologize for any confusion about this rough in valve. Model R10000-UNBXT can be used as a shower only application. The tub spout nipple on the Delta R10000-UNBXT can be capped off with a 1/2" threaded brass cap.

New Shower Construction
I am building a new shower in which I would like to have an overhead showerhead a handheld shower head and also body sprays controlled by the same valving system. Is this possible and what components will I need to make this work correctly. If not would I use a tempering valve that feeds separate control valves? Could you provide me with a recommended list of materials that would be used for these applications.

Thank you for your question. We do manufacture a diverter rough-in valve. It is Delta Faucet model # R11000. Depending on which series you will pick, you will need to also pick the 6-function trim to go with this diverter. Then you will be able to add a handheld shower and the jets you would like.
