Rated 5 out of 5 by from Water-saving Valve makes pressure independent of temperature I bought this valve because it enables you to set the pressure (flow) of the water independently from the temperature. I hate that all the options from the big box stores require you to turn the water all the way on in order to simply get hot water. I believe in only using what I need, and this valve (combined with the right hardware inside the shower) permits me to have hot water at a much lower flow rate. I'm just now getting again for the remodel of another bathroom.

Using soldered copper pipe for hot and cold water. Which rough in valve should I use?

i HAVE WATER COMING OUT THE SHOWER HEAD WHEN I AM FILLING THE TUB. THIS IS A NEW INSTALLATION. I CHANGED OUT THE CARTRIDGE AND THAT DIDN'T WORK WHAT

Asked by: ANTHONY'S PLUMBING
Dear Anthony's Plumbing, Thank you for your inquiry! What you are experiencing is called shower-rise. Someone has made an installation error in your wall. Here are the four things to check. 1. The distance between the center of the valve body to the center of the tub spout must be between 8 and 18 inches. 2. You must use straight ½” copper or ½” iron piping for the piping down to the tub spout. No PVC piping, PEX piping, drop ear elbows or shark fittings are allowed for the piping going to the tub spout. 3. You can only use one 90 degree elbow with the piping going to the tub spout. There should be no shark or gator bite fitting for the elbow connection. 4. The main valve body must be installed right side up. https://www.deltafaucet.com/service-parts/faq#answer-c3ad508e-2cd4-4b5a-8af5-3f75cacd1f90 Best regards, Tanya

What is the difference between the R10000 and the R11000

Asked by: Lou
Hi Lou, Thank you for your question! R10000 Rough-In Valves are designed to work with 13/14, 17, or 17T Series Trim Kits, which will control the volume and temperature of the tub/shower. The R11000 Rough-In Valve is a diverter valve that works with a 3 or 6 Setting Diverter Trim kits and will transfer water flow between 2 or 3 showering components. The bottom port of the R11000 valve would be connected to the top port of the R10000 valve. Best regards, Jon

Just ordered r1000-unwsbxt tub/shower valve. I am replacing an old 3-handle valve with the use of a remodel plate. My problem is distance between the tub spout and faucet centers can only be 7 " max. Will this cause stacking?

Asked by: jmd46
Hi, jmd46! Thank you for your question. The valve body to the tub spout assembly would need to have a distance between 8"-18" to prevent shower-rise. "Shower-rise"is when water can’t get out of the spout as fast as it flows through the valve. This causes the water to back up and come out the shower head when the user only wants the tub spout to flow. Best Regards, Rosanna

how to open and instal rp46463 in to r10000unbx

Asked by: shahpour kazemi
Hi, shahpour kazemi! Thank you for your question. To install the valve cartridge assembly into the MultiChoice Universal R10000-UNBX, first turn the water supply off for the unit. Remove the temperature knob and cover. Remove the volume handle. Unscrew the bonnet nut. Once this is all removed, the valve cartridge assembly can be pulled straight out. Remove the adapter assembly from the back of the valve body. Reinstall new parts. Best Regards, Rosanna

If I use a R10000-UNBX valve, does the tub spout I choose need a diverter?

I will be using a R10000-UNBX valve on my project and need to know if I should be ordering a tub spout with a diverter or is that not necessary with this valve?

What can I do if my valve body is set too deap

I have a shower only application with multiple heads. Installed was a R10000-UNWS valve body and then a R11000 diverter. The shower walls were floated and then tiled. I followed the installers recommendations for the depth of the valve body and the diverter. After the tile was installed the valve body and diverter are now set too deep (about 1 1/4 inch) into the wall. Is there anything that can be done to allow the trim kit and handle it fit without having to tear into the wall and reset the valve body and diverter? I purchased Delta trim kit T17T253 for info.
Asked by: Josh
Hi Josh, Thank you for your question. We do offer extension kits that will help with your issue. The extension kit for the diverter trim is the RP75137. The extension kit for the T17T253 trim is the RP75136. Thanks, Dave

What cartridge fits this valve? I keep buying them and my contractor informed me I keep purchasing the incorrect one.

Asked by: Mandy
Hi, Mandy! Thank you for your question. The R10000 MultiChoice Rough Valve Body takes multiple valve cartridge assemblies. The correct valve cartridge assembly depends on your Valve Trim kit. If you purchased a Monitor 13/14 Series trim kit, you will need RP46074. If you have a Monitor 17 Series trim kit, you will need the RP46463. If you have the TempAssure 17T series unit, you will need the RP47201. Here are the links to each cartridge: https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP46074 https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP46463 https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP47201 Best Regards, Rosanna

Asked by: Belle28

The BX on the R10000 indicates that is a Single Box Model. What exactly is a single box model?

Also, I'm in the process of a remodel for a bathroom. What components will I need to have a shower and a hand held shower? I'm thinking about the Vero trim for the shower and hand held. Thank you for your input. SK
Asked by: SK
Hi SK, Thank you for your question. The single box is just that, you can purchase 1 R10000. The model R10000-UN can only be purchased 12 at a time. If you are installing a shower only we recommend using the R10000-UNBXHF which will give a higher flowrate for the multiple showerheads, this valve cannot be used in a tub installation. Trim choices in the Vero collection include T14253 and T14253-H2O in the 14 series. If you want temperature and volume control the 17 series offers the models T17253 and T17253-H2O. The H2O kinetic showerheads are the differences between the models. If you want to control the showerheads to work individually or together you will also need a R11000 rough in and a T11853 diverter trim. Finally for the handshower you can choose the wall mount 55530 or the slide bar version 57530, and the wall elbow 50570. Thanks, Dave

What is the GPM this valve delivers to the tub fill spout

Asked by: Mike
Thank you for your question, Mike. The flow rate will depend on the trim kit used, the pressure in the home, and other factors. At 60 PSI the maximum flow rate will be about 6.0 GPM with a Monitor pressure-balance unit and 8.5 GPM with a TempAssure thermostatic unit. Best regards, Jon

Living in a new construction home, 2 of the 3 showers only have this roughed in (no fixtures) The 3rd shower has fixtures installed. My question is for the showers with the roughed in valves (no fixtures) will your hot and cold water mix when turned on?

Asked by: ahbe
Thank you for your question, ahbe! The rough-in will allow both hot and cold water into the valve. This should be tested with the provided test cap per the instructions. Without the cartridge that is included with a trim kit, however, you will not be able to adjust the temperature. Best regards, Edward

how ' universal " are the new trims? if the customer has a valve installed, 17oo series, can a new trim be installed in a pre universal valve? say a new style 1400 trim with new cartridge?

Asked by: JimW
Thank you for your question, JimW! The R10000-UNBX valve body will work with any current Delta valve trim in the 13/14, 17 and 17T series. The pre-multi choice cartridges, manufactured for older 1300/1400 series and 1700 series will not fit into an R10000-UNBX valve body. Our current 13/14 series trims would be able to fit over a pre-multi choice valve in the same series, however the pre-multi choice cartridge would need to be used, rather than the multi choice cartridges included in the new trim kits. If you need further assistance, feel free to contact us directly. Best Regards, Benjamin

WHAT IS THE GPM

Asked by: MRS B
Thank you for your question, MRS B. The R10000-UNBX valve will provide various flow rates, depending on the trim kit used and the PSI available to the home. At 60 psi, a 13/14 series can produce up to 5.8gpm but at 80 psi this can go as high as 6.8 gpm. A 17 series can produce approximately 5.9 gpm to 6.8 gpm at these rates whereas the 17T trims can produce anywhere from 7.3 gpm to 8.5 gpm. Best regards, Edward

Valve connection to tub spout

Our plumber installed pex between the universal valve and the tub spout, using a drop ear fitting where the tub spout will go. I have re-read the instructions and realize this was incorrect. We have not closed up the wall yet, so I am wondering if we can fix this ourselves. Does the copper pipe connection require soldering? How does the iron pipe install on the valve? I'm not sure which would be easier.
Asked by: robinja
Hi robinja, Thank you for your question. To install copper pipe on the R10000-UNWS you would have to solder the pipe connections. If using galvanized pipe the valve has a 1/2" male pipe outlet, you would need to install a coupling first and then the length of pipe to the drop ear elbow. Thanks, Dave

Will R10000-UNBX work with T13691-SOS-15 trim kit (Monitor 1300 series trim on box.)

Good afternoon, I bought the R10000-UNBX rough in valve. I also bought the T13691-SOS-15 trim kit (Monitor 1300 series trim only tub/shower w/ cartridge fits multi choice Universal valve - on box.) From my research it seemed like the rough in valve worked with all the new trim kits. I'm not sure it will work with this one as there is a diverter valve hole in the trim plate. And I do not see a diverter valve with trim kit or rough in valve. If I need to buy the diverter valve could you please provide the part number?
