Q&A

I had R10000s installed in 3 showers with the Trinsic trim kit. My problem is that the hot/cold is reversed on all 3. Dial to the left (red dot) it gets cold, to the right (blue dot) it gets hot. This is wrong, isn't it? Plumber says no. THX

Asked by: renmarq
Hi, Renmarq! Thank you for your question. You are correct, the hot should be on the left side. The cold should be towards the right side. Best Regards, Rosanna

universal valves

I am wanting to convert my single handle Price Pfister tub & shower set to a delta. Which universal adapter would I need for this and would it also be possible to choose a set which has the separate temp control when my current one is not that type?
Asked by: Patti
Hi Patti, Thank you for your interest in our products. There is no way to adapt/convert another brand of faucet into a Delta. You would have to change the rough in behind the wall as well. The R10000UNWSBXT is one of our multichoice universal roughs. Once this rough is installed you can choose any of the Delta tub/shower trims to fit this rough in valve. Our T17 series trims offer separate temperature and volume control and are available in a variety of styles and finishes. Thanks, Dave

Hello,     I am installing a cement board around the valve rough in. There are 2 screws in addition to snaps on the plasterboard holding it to the rough in body. Can you advise on size of the screws.

Asked by: alexki
Hi, alexki! Thank you for your question. The screw size for the Delta MultiChoice Universal R10000-UNWSBXT Rough In Valve Body is #10-24 x1/4. Best Regards, Rosanna

Just ordered r1000-unwsbxt tub/shower valve. I am replacing an old 3-handle valve with the use of a remodel plate. My problem is distance between the tub spout and faucet centers can only be 7 " max. Will this cause stacking?

Asked by: jmd46
Hi, jmd46! Thank you for your question. The valve body to the tub spout assembly would need to have a distance between 8"-18" to prevent shower-rise. "Shower-rise"is when water can’t get out of the spout as fast as it flows through the valve. This causes the water to back up and come out the shower head when the user only wants the tub spout to flow. Best Regards, Rosanna

New trim for old valve body

I need to replace the trim package on my existing Monitor 1700 Series shower valve. The existing cartridge is an RP32104 (white top, single tab on left). The valve body seems to be an older model that has screwdriver stop assemblies soldered to both sides and the threaded screw holes for the escutcheon trim screws are both on the bottom of the side of the body. All of the replacement trim packages show the screws on the lower left and upper right so they don't line up with the screw holes on my valve body. The new mounting brackets don't seem to provide an access to the screwdriver stops. Is there an adaptor or some other way to mount a new trim package to this valve body?
Asked by: philimus
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately there is not a trim that will fit your current valve body. You will need to replace the valve too. We recommend Delta Faucet model # R10000-UNBX multi-choice valve. Or if you want to keep the screwdriver stops like on your current valve, then we would recommend Delta Faucet model # R10000-UNWS. This would allow you to turn the water off at the valve for servicing instead of the whole house.

I bought the Delta MultiChoice R10000 Can I use threaded brass fittings for my connections?

Asked by: JB
Hi JB! Thank you for your question. We recommend using proper fittings with each type of Multichoice Universal Rough Valve (copper tubing, iron pipe, and pex fitting). Below is a link with more information on these valves. https://media.deltafaucet.com/SpecSheet/DSP-B-R10000%20Rev%20J.pdf Best regards, Edward

Asked by: Lowes 2302
Thank you for your question, Lowes 2302! The two models are functionally the same model, only the packaging is different. The R10000-LBX is packaged exclusively for Lowe's Home Improvement stores. Best Regards, Benjamin
