Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2 thumbs up This is my favorite rough in valve. The built in shutoffs are super convenient in the installation process, but also, if the cartridge ever needs to be cleaned or worked on, you can shut off the water right at the valve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked well, easy to install We got the one without the bottom fitting for the tub as it's just a shower and this made for one less fitting to solder. It's described as a high flow but that was one disappointment with the delta system is the flow is a little low. I think hand held/fixed shower head combo is the problem. I'm going to check it to see if there's a flow reducer that I can remove or drill out.

Cassidy Shower Only with R10000-UNWSHF

I would like to maximize water flow and I like the Cassidy trim. From the FAQ it looks like the R10000-UNBXHF provides more flow than the R10000-UNWSHF. Will these valves work with the Cassidy cartridge? The water line is 1/2 inch CPVC. Thanks for any help.

Hi Autopilot3, Thank you for your question. The R10000-UNWSHF, and the R10000-UNBXHF multichoice universal roughs will both work with the Cassidy cartridge. The inlets and outlets of the valve are 1/2" MIP. Thanks, Dave

Since I already have two R10000 shower only with stops, can I use both to run two shower heads without the need for a diverter?

The two new valves were given to me and I want to utilize both. Can they be installed to run two shower heads?

hot water is not hot enough, how can is adjust the temperature higher. installation manual has no instructions.

Thank you for your inquiry, Viorel! The trim will have a Rotational Limit Stop that can be adjusted to increase the maximum temperature. Each series (13/14, 17, and 17T) has a different way to adjust the stop. Please refer to the Installation Instructions for the trim kit that you chose. Best regards, Tanya

R10000-UNBXHF and R10000-UNWSHF flow rates

Have a shower only install going in. Seeing some what I think is conflicting Q&A answers on flow rates of the R10000-UNBXHF and R10000-UNWSHF (one Q&A response was no difference in flow rates, but Delta Rep today told me the UNBXHF had slightly higher flow rates than the UNWSHF valves). Can you please confirm the flow rates for BOTH HF valves (@ 60 and 80 psi) using: Monitor 17 dual function PB and TempAssure 17T dual function thermostatic cartridges?

Hi RonC, Thank you for your question. These are the maximum flow rates from the shower port: -- 17 Series -- R10000-UNBXHF - 6.6 gpm @ 60 PSI. 7.7 gpm @ 80 PSI. R10000-UNWSHF - 5.9 gpm @ 60 PSI. 6.8 gpm @ 80 PSI. --17T Series-- R10000-UNBXHF - 8.6 gpm @ 60 PSI. 9.9 gpm @ 80 PSI. R10000-UNWSHF - 7.4 gpm @ 60 PSI. 8.6 gpm @ 80 PSI. Best regards, Jon

Any limitation as to how far this valve can be from the 6 setting diverter, Delta R11000, Delta T11953? We are planning to put the valve at entrance to shower maybe 5 or 6 feet away from where jets/shower head would be and want to put the diverter there

What size and type of cartridge would i need for this particular model?

Thank you for your question, Reem! The R10000-UNWSHF Multichoice Universal Rough-in valve can use any of the current Delta shower cartridges for either the 13/14 or 17/17T trim kits. These kits will include the correct cartridge needed for installation but can be switched out at any time to accommodate a different series if you ever decide to change your trim. I installed R10000-UNWSHF Rough in. I am using Schluter Kerdi board and the Schluter mixing valve seal for both my rough in and diverter rough in. Can the Delta Plaster guard be removed, the Schluter mixing valve seal will be superior for leak prevention.

Hello Roman1, Thank you for your inquiry! The Delta MultiChoice Universal Rough-In Valve R10000-UNBX contains a plasterguard that is used in aiding the installation of your faucet. It is not necessary to the functionality of the faucet. If you choose not to use the plastergaurd as a guide to cut the hole, please make sure that the hole is large enough to access the screw holes for the trim plate. Best regards, Tanya
