Rated 3 out of 5 by from Universal, schmooniversal What's "universal" about this? I can only find one shower set up that works with it! Unfortunately, it's already installed in my new shower, behind some nice new tile, and the one shower kit that works, even though it's a Delta, looks like it belongs in a Minecraft World, it's so square shaped. My bad, I guess, for taking the universal part seriously.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Major flow restriction This rough-in "Delta R22000-WS" with the service stops has a huge flow restriction in both the hot and cold inlets. although this rough-in can accept 1/2 pipe connections there is a restriction in the inlet that is at best 1/4" round hole causing a serious restriction and pressure issue at the shower head. I was hesitant to install it but after being reassured that it would be fine, I went ahead. Unfortunately, as I suspected the pressure at the shower head is bearable until I try to use the shower head and body spray at the same time. Very disappointing flow rate. My supply pressure to the rough-in is 60PSI but it's not enough to overcome the built-in restriction that's in the rough-in body. I now have to tear down my brand-new tile shower encloser and replace the rough-in. I need to know if the Delta R22000 has the same flow restriction as the Delta R22000-WS?

Q&A

What does the WS mean? What is the difference between R22000 and R22000-WS?

Asked by: Jenn
Hi, Jenn! Thank you for your question. The "WS" for the Delta R22000-WS rough valve indicates this unit includes 'stops'. The stops allow to turn the water off at the valve instead of having to turn the water off at the water supply in the home. Best Regards, Rosanna

With the R22000 can you select up to 3 outputs separately, or is it 2 outputs and a combined output?

Asked by: jaysctx
Thank you for your question, jaysctx! The R22000-WS rough-in allows you the option of using either a three setting or six setting diverter trim. If you have three items to divert between, a six setting cartridge allows all three items to be used independently as well as three shared functions. A three setting cartridge is used for two items that can then work alone or together in the shared function position. https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/showering/tub-and-shower-faucets?categories=Delta_Bathroom_Showering_Tub and Shower Faucets_Shower Valve with Diverter Best regards, Edward

Step 1-B: Is 'Distance (3)' to the outside of the dry wall prior to tiling or to outside of tile? What if tile thickness is changed later, must valve be re-positioned?

Asked by: ontonboy
It seems that nobody is willing to actually define what the finished wall consists of! I too have asked the exact same question and always get the same useless answer. I personally set mine to the edge of the backer board not including the tile. This will be within the specified tolerances and should work perfectly fine.

I'm picking up a T24959 Trim Kit. Is the R22000-ws sufficient? Will be installing a shower head, wand and 4 body jets. Will there be enough water flow to run 2 at a time?

Asked by: patrick
Hi Patrick, Thank you for your inquiry! Depending on the shower head, hand shower and body jets you are interested in, as well as your psi for your home, would determine if you will have enough water flow to run two at a time. We recommend contacting us on our customer service line at 1-800-345-3358 between the hours of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday ~ Friday as well as 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Saturday CST, to be able to assist you further with this inquiry. Will the r22000 valve give me 3 independent ports as i want to have a shower head, separately located hand held and a rainhead. None to be shared.

Asked by: Dave
Hi, Dave! Thank you for your question. You can install three shower components onto the R22000 MultiChoice® Universal Integrated Shower Diverter Rough and use all three separately by purchasing a 3 setting Integrated diverter valve trim and also purchasing the RP71718 3 setting non-shared diverter cartridge. Here is a link to this non-shared diverter cartridge: https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP71718 Best Regards, Rosanna

I’m planning on installing an overhead shower and a hand shower (55424-RB). Wall elbow 50560-RB. Valve trim T27825 (temp/3-setting div). Besides the shower head, arm and flange (and piping), is R22000-WS the only other part i’ll need to complete set-up?

Asked by: irc2
Thank you for your question, Irc2! That is correct if you are only planning on using a shower head as well as a wall mounted hand shower. The integrated diverter trim will allow you to switch between two functions with the option to use both simultaneously. Please contact us directly if you have questions or need further assistance.
