Rated 3 out of 5 by from Universal, schmooniversal What's "universal" about this? I can only find one shower set up that works with it! Unfortunately, it's already installed in my new shower, behind some nice new tile, and the one shower kit that works, even though it's a Delta, looks like it belongs in a Minecraft World, it's so square shaped. My bad, I guess, for taking the universal part seriously.

Q&A

For a 3 setting diverter, do I have to instal the plug on the right side, or can I instal it on the left side?

I'm installing a hand shower in addition to the overhead shower head, and the door to the shower is on the left, so I want to install the hand shower on the right side of the valve. If I could plumb from the right side of the diverter, I could avoid having some interesting plumbing challenges. I'm going to install the Traditional Pressure Balance trim. Thanks!
Asked by: Doc Dave
Hi, Doc Dave! Thank you for your question. If you are only using two ports, one for your shower head and one for your hand shower, you must plug the right port. You will have to plumb the left port over with a copper pipe in order for your hand shower to be installed on the right side. Best Regards, Rosanna

Is there an extension kit that works for the R22000? My shower wall is granite and is a little too thick so I need to bring it out around 1"

Asked by: Healy
Thank you for your question, Healy! The R22000 Rough-in valve is compatible with different extension kits depending on the trim being used. These kits will allow up to an additional 1" to the finished wall thickness and can be found on the technical specification sheet below. If you have questions or need further assistance with this part please feel free to contact us directly. https://media.deltafaucet.com/SpecSheet/DSP-B-R22000_C.pdf Best regards, Edward

We have this unit installed and the water at just this unit does not get hot enough. Does this unit have an Anti-Scald Shower Valve that can be adjusted? If so are the instructions to do so available? Thank you

Asked by: Desmond
Thank you for your question, Desmond! Your model may have instructions on setting a rotational limit stop on the cartridge if you have a T14/T17 series trim. This information can be found on page 5, step 3 of your installation manual below. https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/102016%20Rev%20A.pdf Best regards, Edward

Can I use this to operate a tub filler, shower head, and hand-shower?

Asked by: Jenn
Hi, Jenn! Thank you for your question. We do not recommend to install a tub spout with the R22000 Integrated rough valve as the flow rate from the spout would be lower than a standard installation. Alternatively, you can install an R10000 and R11000 valve with corresponding trim kits. The tub spout should be connected to the bottom port of an R10000 valve to provide sufficient flow to fill a tub. Best Regards, Rosanna

Is this the proper valve for a 6 setting integrated diverter? You make 3 setting and 6 setting options...is this valve used for both?

Asked by: Jason
Hi, Jason! Thank you for your question. Yes, you can use this same diverter rough for both a 3 setting or a 6 setting diverter. To make the unit work for a 3 setting diverter, simply plug the right port so that you can use the top and left ports for just two shower options. Best Regards, Rosanna

Is there any way to use this valve with a tub/shower plus hand held? with a no stop tub spout

Asked by: tnt89
Hello Tnt89, Thank you for your question! I am happy to help. The R22000 / R22000WS will not work with a tub filler. These valves are designed to work only with multiple showerheads and hand showers and will not support the amount of flow needed for a tub spout. I apologize for the inconvenience. How do I know Which is the 6 or 3 way diverter between R22000 and R22000WS

Asked by: Gene
Thank you for your question, Gene! The only difference between the two models is the R22000-WS has supply shut offs, which allow you to turn the water off directly at the valve during installation or repair. The Delta R22000 unit does not include these stops. The trim kit is what actually determines the number of settings. Either rough in body can be used with our 3 setting and 6 setting integrated diverter trims. Best Regards, Benjamin

In the specs the flow rate is quoted for a 13/14S, 17S and 17T cartridge. Plug these numbers into your search bar and nothing comes up. What are they, and more specifically which one (if any) is the T27959 series 17 valve trim?

Asked by: NH_Al
This is the cheaper Monitor system which is NOT thermostatic. It is a pressure balance system.

Asked by: Tom S
Hi, Tom S! Thank you for your question. The right port must be plugged if it is not in use as the three setting diverter will only open the top and left ports. Best Regards, Rosanna

Can the max hot water temperature be adjusted on the R22000

Asked by: mwat
Hello! Yes, the rotational limit stop can be adjusted on the cartridge to allow more hot water into the mix. This will also depend on the type of trim kit cartridge, 14 vs 17 series. Why we have to cover one side of the delta valve to install a hand shower?

Asked by: Vera
Hi, Vera! Thank you for your question. The Delta R22000 Integrated Valve and Diverter Rough In can work for a 3 or 6 setting diverter unit. If using 2 shower components, the right port must be plugged since only the top and left ports will be used. If using 3 shower components, all three ports will be used, and no ports need to be plugged. Best Regards, Rosanna

Asked by: ERIKA N
Thank you for your question, ERIKA N! The only difference between the R22000 and the R22000WS Rough-in Valves would be the Screwdriver stops that allow you to shut off the water flow directly at the valve of the R22000WS version. Best regards, Edward

When do use r22000 instead of r11000? Could I use r 11000 instead of r22000 with T27T859-SS?

Asked by: Sally
Hello Sally, Thank you for your question. The Delta Integrated Rough-In Valve R22000 can only be used with the T27T859-SS for proper fittings, spacing and connections. The R11000 Diverter Valve would have to be soldered to the top of a separate MultiChoice Universal valve R10000-UNBX and would not have the proper spacing or connections for the integrated trim kits. Will this valve or the R22000WS valve work efficiently as a combined tub filler with a hand held shower? They're meant to be used as 2 shower valves but prefer to have a single trim plate instead of 2 plates on the wall & want no diverter on the spout.

Hi, Bill. Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we don't recommend to use any kind of tub spout assembly with the R22000 Integrated valve body. As an alternative, we recommend using the MultiChoice R10000 rough valve with the separate R11000 diverter valve body. Best Regards, Rosanna

I have a R22000 Multichoice rough in. Can the pressure test caps and test plug remain installed during the completion of the shower so that water can remain on in the house.

Asked by: Mike
Hi, Mike! Thank you for your question. Both test caps for the R22000 can be kept installed in the valve body during the completion of the shower so that the water can be left on for the rest of the home. However, we do have the R22000-WS that includes stops for this convenience. Here is a link to this unit: https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/R22000-WS Best Regards, Rosanna
