Rated 1 out of 5 by from All plastic and too scary to install Very disappointed. I bought this to replace an old tub spout that had internal rusting. I have always had good luck with Delta products. I ignored the one star reviews that had issues with the internal plastic piece cracking, leaking and causing water damage. I recieved this today and immediately sent it back. The shell is also plastic and could easily be broken if someone bumped it hard with their leg. It is very nice looking and has a very nice machined brass adapter, other than the diverter knob and rod the rest is plastic. Too scary to install so I sent it back.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 99 cent o-ring fails on a $100 faucet Finish held up but the o-rings in the faucet failed causing water to spray behind the wall, down into the basement. There doesn't appear to be a way to replace the 99 cent o-ring. Now I have to buy a $100 replacement. This was installed several years ago by my plumber so of course I do not have the receipts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great customer service and product My tub spout was purchased 5 years ago. It was stripped when removing it for a remodel. Delta customer service replaced it free of charge. I am a Delta customer for life!! Great customer service. It is a quality piece. Very heavy and works well. We have had no issues with the entire tub/shower set.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just needed the guts. Bought this for the plastic innards. Brushed nickel is discontinued so I was able to get the guts of this out and into the existing one. I think it ought to be sold as such, being plastic and prone to failure so easily.

Q&A

will go onto a 1" connector..the previous one was 1" and was connected behind the wall so in order to change it to the universal size I would need to take the wall out which I don't want to do so I need a tub spout that connects to 1" connector..thanks

Asked by: casey
Hi, Casey! Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we do not make 1" tub spout connections. All of our tub spouts are 1/2". I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Best Regards, Rosanna

From reading previous questions and answers. How do you sweat onto a half inch pipe? Are there instructions with the replacement piece on sweating? The installer left about 2" of copper pipe in front of the 1" adapter.

Asked by: Dean
Thank you for your question, Dean! This tub spout does install either by sweating onto 1/2" C.W.T. or threading onto 1/2" IPS. The adapter itself will not come with instructions on sweating or soldering as we recommend a professional for this type of installation. Tubing should be cut with a tubing cutter 2-4" from the finished wall. When brazing on the adapter, you will need to remove the external o-ring first and let the brass cool down prior to restoring this ring. If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact us directly. Best regards, Edward

Tub Spout

Hello I recently purchased a trim kit BT14496-OB to convert an older 1400 series from chrome to bronze. Everything fits great except the tub spout. I believe the chrome one to be RP38450 from the original literature when I installed some years ago. So do you have a Bronze spout that will just screw on to the old fitting in place of the RP38450? I see model RP34357RB which looks the same as RB38450 but cannot find any specs on the threads to see if it will fit the same? Thanks Paul
Asked by: Pawpie
Hi Pawpie, Thank you for your question. The RP34357RB will work on the existing tub spout adapter (RP12307). Thanks, Jon

Does the RP34357RB come longer than 7 1/2?

Asked by: Tone
Thank you for your question, Tone. Unfortunately, we do not have a longer version of the spout. The longest diverter tub spout that we currently have is 7 2/3", part number RP72565. Best regards, Jon

Is there a similar spout that is metal and not plastic. I need the rubbed oil bronze color.

Asked by: Peggy
Hi, Peggy. Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we do not have similar Traditional-Style tub spout assemblies in the Oil Rubbed Bronze finish that are metallic. We do have the RP81273OB, RP61357OB, and RP64721OB tub spouts that are Oil Rubbed Bronze. Best Regards, Rosanna
