Does this faucet have a water flow reduction aspect? By the time my tub fills, the water is cold. Didn't have a problem with my old faucet. I have to turn the water to almost all hot to have it stay warm enough for the tub to fill. It is a fairly big tub

Asked by: SaraS
Hi SaraS, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing. Here is what we can do to resolve your issue for you. Our Delta Faucet Lahara® Tub Spout - Pull-Up Diverter In Chrome MODEL#: RP51303 does not have a flow restrictor, the flow rate of our tub spout would depend on the PSI in your home and would produce approximately 8-10 GPM. We would recommend a flush to remove any debris or blockage causing a lower than normal flow. Please see the step-by-step instructions below. To flush the open valve without the cartridge, please follow the directions below. 1) Remove the handle by loosening the set screw on the side of the base of the handle. The set screw is either a 1/8" or 3/32" Allen screw. So you will need to use the appropriate size Allen wrench to loosen it. Loosen it just enough to be able to easily pull the handle off. * Note. If there is calcium build-up at the base of the handle, it may be necessary to soak it in a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water. Simply saturate the rag with the 50/50 solution, wrap it around the handle base and place a plastic bag over it. I would recommend doing this the night before removing the handle. 2) After removing the handle, remove the trim sleeve. 3) Then you will need to remove the bonnet nut. The bonnet nut is the threaded ring at the valve opening. It unscrews counterclockwise. You will need a pipe wrench or a pair of channel locks. 4) After removing the bonnet nut, you will need to pull the cartridge straight out. You may need a small, skinny bladed screwdriver to wedge in between the lip of the cartridge and the valve to help start it out. 5) Once the cartridge is removed, you will have an open valve body. 6) Next, shut the shower door or curtain and turn the water on to the valve. Water should gush out, much like an open fire hydrant. Have someone observe if there is good water pressure coming out of the valve and let it flush for 30 seconds. 7) Re-install the cartridge and re-assemble in reverse of how it was disassembled. The Tub/Shower should then have a good flow. If it does not, the cartridge will need to be replaced. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to serve you. Please contact us back with any further questions. Best Regards, Nicole

The Lahara bathtub spout has some kind of insert that keeps the water from coming out of the center and it only flows weirdly around the edges of the spout.  Is this removeable? It really impedes  the water flow dramatically. Could not attach photo here:(

Asked by: Laura R
Hi Laura R, thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! The dome insert in the tub spout is designed to allow water to flow around it, to have a laminar type of flow. Removing this piece will result in the water going in different directions and will void any warranties that are available on the product. Our tub spouts allow about 5 to 9 GPM depending on PSI to the home. If you are experiencing a low flow from the tub spout, please remove the tub spout and flush the pipe for about a minute. We appreciate your inquiry. Please reach out directly if you have further questions! Best Regards, Kyra Digital Communications Specialist

Asked by: Degster

What is this made of?

Asked by: Basia
Hi Basia, Thanks for your question regarding RP51303CZ! The faucet body, spout, and handle are metal. Unfortunately, we do not have a complete breakdown of the materials used; however, metal parts are usually brass (hub, handle, body, tube, fittings), zinc (escutcheon, hub, handle), or stainless steel (set screw, undercover plate). Quality is of high importance to us, and our products undergo rigorous testing to ensure high-quality performance. Non-metallic products are beneficial in that they do not rust or corrode and help prevent heat transfer.
