Internal broken plastic piece
Same as everyone else. The valve and this piece both broke. I reached out to Delta and filed a claim under 15630461. I received no response to my claim. I saw some people had luck with their claims. I guess it is a roll of the dice.

Works great
I had the same issues here as others with the internal plastic piece breaking. Called Delta and they replaced without issue. Agree it should be made of better material but we lice in a plastic disposable world these days and to keep cost down plastic is the unfortunate choice.. overall pleased with the product

Not a good purchase from
Leaking within 1 month
I bought this faucet and had it installed by our plumber. Within 1 month of install this faucet is already leaking. Beautiful design but not functional when it has a steady dripping leak. Can’t wait to see my water bill!! I should have read the reviews before purchasing because this is clearly an issue with others that have purchased this product.

Diverter easily breaks
We have a main floor bath that is hardly used and I am having to replace the tub spout because the diverter is mad of plastic and EASILY breaks when you pull up on it. Frankly, I wish I didn't need to buy it again but have to in order to match the rest of the bathroom plumbing fixtures.

Not happy!
I've only had this shower system for 2 years but when we were cleaning the other it the other day, the spout came off. I tried to screw it back on but it kept on spinning and wouldn't tighten up. When I looked inside of it, I noticed it was made of plastic. We love the design and the dual shower head but all of that including the full renovation of the bathroom now looks bad because I now have a pipe sticking out of the wall with no spout. For the price of this shower system, it should be able to withstand simple cleaning without breaking.

Not Working!
I purchased this product and then had my plumber install it.
He has told me that the diverter has fallen into pieces and he put it back together, but believes it is still not working properly. The spout will not seal well enough to even turn the over head shower on without water spewing out of the back, he believes the spout is defective.
I really need these replacement components that are going to work and then I would be glad to change my review to 5 stars for functionality and design!

Love the design
I have had this for a couple of years. Came home from a trip and found the spout laying in the bottom of the tub. The plastic connector was broken on the inside of the faucet.

Leaking gallons a day
I know it's this model--I still have the original box! Had a contractor install it with the matching shower body and handheld attachment. The spout leaks continually, although the set is very handsome. My plumber recommended outreach directly to Delta for a lifetime warranty, said it would be costly and difficult for him to replace from his suppliers.Hoping that might be true! I am not sure if the other pieces of the set (handle and diverter) would also require replacement to fix the badly leaking spout.

Diverter broken
Recently renovated a bathroom and was told Delta was reliable product. But the diverter on my tub spout broke after a few months! Product looks great but the plastic piece inside broke and replacement parts aren't available.

Diverter Broken After 3 Months!
Diverter on the tub spout broke after 3 months. Tried fixing it but it is impossible! Love the look of it but obviously durability counts for more. Wife lifted up the diverter and the mechanism fell apart. Awful design and disappointed - always bought Delta products in the past.

Diverter came apart
My wife went to turn on the shower from the faucet and the diverter came apart inside when she lifted the knob. I was able to put it back together but it won’t seal properly. I tried to find replacement parts but the generic diverter replacement kits didn’t work in this model faucet and it still leaked. I am hopeful that DELTA will respond with help and stand behind their product.

Diverter piece fell apart!
My daughter was using the tub and the whole diverter thing just fell apart when she tried lifting the stick to engage the shower. I can kind of tell how it should go back together, but I tried a few times and it does not seem possible to do with human hands. These must have been assembled with robots. I am hopeful that DELTA will respond with help. I purchased DELTA upon my contractor's recommendation that they are the best company at standing behind their product.

It works
This tub spout diverter, unlike the two I had previously, completely shuts off the flow of water to the tub and, instead, directs it all to the shower head. This is great, especially If you have low water pressure.
We have hard water from a well. So, it will be interesting to see how well this works after calcium deposits have a chance to build up.
The quality of the product is solid. I gave it a four star rating because it has plastic parts.

Poorly made diverter
Had this diverter for just over a year. internal plastic broke and all the parts fell into the tub. Fortunately, it just unscrews without tools. It took 2 very frustrating calls to customer service and then finally pictures to hopefully get this part. I did not have the model name, and customer support could not find a 7 5/8 inch long diverter with my description. Photos did the trick. Since this has a lifetime warranty, I wonder how many times I will need to replace it? Please redesign it for better durability.

very poor internal materials.
Cheep plastic internal parts to Pull-Up Diverter. It broke easily when my daughter just bumped it while reaching for flow control valve. no way to repair must replace.

Our tub diverter is in a finish you no longer have: brushed nickel. Does the current finish Brillance stainless steel mean that the finish is shiny? Stainless steel is the closest finish to what we have, but I don't want it to be shiny

What is the installation for this spout?
I see 3 methods in file "68882 Rev B.pdf". Which one applies?
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP52153SS can be installed 3 different ways depending on what kind of piping is coming out of the wall. If you have a copper pipe, you can either use it as a slip on spout like illustration number C-1 or you sweat the spout onto the pipe as in illustration C-3. If you have an iron pipe coming out of the wall, then you use illustration C-2.

Model RP52153 Pull-Up Diverter Removal
How is the pull up diverter valve removed to clean mineral deposits?
Hi Handyguy8, Thank you for your question. We do not recommend taking the tub spout diverter apart. Soaking the tub spout in a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water should help clean the mineral deposits. Make sure to rinse the spout when done.

What is the difference between this part and RP83676SS? They look just the same and both Linden stainless steel. One costs more. There are many complaints about the plastic and durability of both. I have to order one so I'd like to know the differenc

Thank you for your question. The Delta RP52153SS Tub Spout Assembly includes the RP12307 adapter assembly and installs by sweating onto 1/2" C.W.T or thread onto 1/2" IPS. The RP83676SS Tub Spout Assembly RP83676SS is a slip on install.
