Hi Northern Remodeler, Thank you for your question! The showerhead is metal while the ports are rubber. We offer three different ceiling mount shower arms, available in 3" , 6" and 10" lengths (see links below). It is only recommended use a raincan and not for use with model U4993-SS as it is not pressurized. It is possible the issue can be resolved by cleaning the product. We would recommend soaking the product in a 50/50 solution of water and white distilled vinegar. Allowing water to evaporate on the surface can lead to a build-up of mineral deposits. Cleaning with a damp non-abrasive sponge and buffing it dry with a clean soft cloth should help keep your product looking beautiful. To remove water spots, use warm water and a soft, damp cloth. Hard water stains may be removed using a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Make certain that you rinse the surface thoroughly with water afterward.
