What is the difference between rp62955 and rp53496?
Hi Sam, Thank you for your question. The RP53496 is an all metal 8" square showerhead. The RP62955 is a 5-11/16" x 8-5/8" rectangular showerhead. Both are single setting showerheads with a full body spray pattern, touch clean spray holes, and a flow rate of 2.5 gallons per minute.

What's the largest rainshower head manufactured by Delta

What's the largest shower head manufactured by Delta. I've seen a 8 inch one, do you have anything bigger than that.

Thank you for your question. This shower head, RP53496, is the largest square rain can shower head that we have. We do have an 8 5/8" rain can shower head which is RP62955.

Dave, how does the head mount to the tile? I get the nipple part, just drill a hole for the nipple to attach to the water supply.
What will I need besides the shower head and nipple and diverter and what are the part numbers for ordering purposes.
Is there an online installation manual that shows me how to mount directly to the tile?

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your question. When using Delta Faucet model # RP53496 without a showerarm and flange, you will need to screw it on the pipe coming down from your ceiling.
There is not a manual for this operation. You will need a 1/2 threaded pipe in your ceiling and the showerhead will screw onto it. It is up to you how far it sticks down from the tile.

What is the construction of this shower head?
There is quite a difference in price, how does this compare to the RP50841?

There are some small differences in the shape of the shower heads and the nubbins, but the biggest difference is that the RP53496 is made of metal and the RP50841 is not. I hope this was helpful! This showerhead is heavy, could it be a problem with the extension and piping in the wall?

Is this the same rain head as the 57740 Metal Raincan shower head. If so why is there a $147 difference?

Can you tell me if the water flow restrictor valve can be removed form this item? If not, which is the Delta raincan with the strongest water flow/pressure?

Thank you for your question. The flow restrictor in the Delta RP53496 is non-removable. Unfortunately, attempting to remove the flow restrictor or modifying the shower head in anyway, may result in voiding any warranty that this shower head may have. The flow rate for this shower head is 2.50 gpm @ 80 psi which is at the highest flow rate we have for our shower heads. If you feel like you are getting less than 2.50 gpm, please contact us back.

does tilt for wall mount
Thank you for your inquiry, Tony! The Delta Raincan Shower Head RP53496 could be mounted on any shower arm with a standard 1/2" connection. This unit does have a ball joint that allows it to adjust/tilt.
