Water issues from
Plastic and diverter failed after 1 year.
Plastic and the diverter failed after 1 year. Not impressed at all. Half the water is diverted so no water pressure in the shower and it’s leaking behind the spout by the wall.

the spout is plastic
we have not yet installed yet, and wondering what our hard water will do to this (is plastic better than metal for hard water?). The valve attachment is metal, everything else is plastic.

It's Plastic!!!
While the product is beautiful and matches perfectly with Delta's Addison Collection, the tub spout is a cheap version of the real thing. It's made of plastic and can only be cleaned with mild soap and water. Especially in a bathtub where tile spray and cleaners splatter and can ruin the plastic chrome finish it's very likely I will have to buy another one down the line.

My faucet does sit firmly against the wall of the tub. There is at least a 1/2 inch gap. Is there an adapter or anything that can fix this problem? I have a RP61269 Tub spout
Thank you for your question, Donna29! This tub spout can be sweat onto 1/2" CWT - 1/4" to 1" from wall surface or thread onto 1/2" IPS nipple 5/8" to 1 5/8" from wall surface. We do not offer an adapter that will correct this and the pipe will need to be cut in order for the spout to sit flush. Please contact us directly if you have questions or need further assistance.

Should the adapter be against wall for copper sweat installation?
The instruction doesn't explain if I need to install the adapter against wall or away from it.
The picture shows some slack between the wall and the adapter, but it doesn't explain how far either.
And also how long the copper pipe should be from the wall?
Thank you for your question. When sweating on Delta Faucet model # RP61269, you will cut the tubing 2"-4" from the finished wall. After brazing, the adapter will be 1/4"-1/2" from the finished wall.
When brazing on the adapter, remove the external o-ring first and cool the brass down prior to re-installing the o-ring. If desired, tubing may be cut off just beyond or flush with the end of the adapter.

Does the adapter need to be soldered on both ends or just the end that faces the tub? The other end is close to the wall and difficult to access.
Hi WeekendDIY, Thank you for your question. The RP12307 tub spout adapter that comes with the model RP61269 tub spout will sweat on the copper pipe at the end of the adapter under the o-ring which is away from the wall. Make sure to remove the o-ring before sweating the fitting.

How do you remove the tub filler? I don't see specs here under the documents and specs area. It just twists around and doesn't seem to have a set screw.

Our Delta Faucet RP61269 is threaded to an adapter or to a 1/2" IPS nipple. To remove this, rotate counterclockwise and pull off. If it is not coming off there may be buildup preventing it to come off. Please grab a washcloth, mix a solution of 50/50 white vinegar and lukewarm water, drench the washcloth in the solution, and wrap it around the back of the tub spout. Please let it sit for about an hour.
