Q&A

Will this faucet work on the older Delta 600 series?

Asked by: Hubie
It doesn't fit, Tanya. The hole inside the faucet to accept the original adapter is smaller than the adapter.

Does this come with the plastic collar?

Can this be used with existing brass adaptor?

Can you confirm the Delta RP61357BN comes with the necessary parts for installation using the brass o-ring adaptor used for Copper Sweat Installation? I'm hoping I can use this to replace a Delta RP5834 (chrome) and use the existing brass o-ring adaptor. It is proving difficult to get the correct answer, as I've been told both yes and no, but in both cases I think people are only guessing.
Asked by: Brian
I have the exact same brass adaptor. It is 2" long from the wall. The RP61357 requires a 3-7/8" to 4" nipple from the finished wall. This has become very frustrating to me since it was installed using this brass adaptor. I contacted Delta Faucet and they sent out this RP61357 Tub Spout Diverter instead and it will not fit. Now I'm stuck and will have to figure out another way to fix this without having to pay exorbitant fees to a plumber.

Can this tub spout be used with a brass adapter. A brass adapter is on the copper pipe now and i cannot get it off.

Asked by: Keats
Thank you for your question, Keats! The Delta RP61357BN tub spout threads directly onto a 1/2" pipe near the nose. It does not use the RP12307 adapter. If the adapter will not unscrew, then it was soldered on and will need to be removed by a professional. Alternatively the models RP19820SS or RP17453SS will work with the adapter and are offered in our Stainless Steel finish which is almost identical to our Brushed Nickel. https://www.deltafaucet.com/product-comparison?modelNumber=RP19820SS&modelNumber=RP17453SS Best regards, Edward

will this be a direct replacement for RP5834. Want to got from chrome to nickel finish

Asked by: David
Thank you for your question, David! Model RP5834 is available in the Stainless Steel finish which is nearly identical to our Brushed Nickel finish and would be the exact replacement. The Delta RP61357BN tub spout threads directly onto a 1/2" pipe near the nose and does not use any adapter for the install. The RP5834 tub spout includes an adapter but this can be removed if threading directly onto 1/2" pipe. If the adapter was soldered onto the pipe; however, this will need to be removed first. https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP5834SS Best regards, Edward

Is a trim ring to cover a larger opening in wall available?

The tile installer left a hole in the tile for the water pipe which the diverter spout connects to that is larger than the spout. In hopes of not chipping out and replacing the tile, is there a trim ring avaialbe that would fit between the diverter tub spout and the wall to cover the hole and provide a finished appearance?
Asked by: Steve
Hi Steve, Thank you for your question. We do not offer a tub spout trim ring as a separate item. The RP61357BN spout that you have has a 2-15/32" diameter. RP52148SS has a diameter of 3-1/2", and RP34357SS has a diameter if 3-1/8". These spouts may be large enough to cover the exposed hole. Thanks, Dave

if the wall pipe connection isn't long enough to thread into the spout, is there an adapter I can use to connect it?

I am replacing a tub spout. The old one screwed off fine, but this model's threading is deep in the spout, the copper pipe is a bit too short to reach. Do I have to call a plumber to re-do the pipe or is there an adapter I can get to extend from the end of the existing pipe to the threading of this spout?
Asked by: Michael
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP61357OB does have the threads in the nose of the spout. We do not offer an extender for your existing pipe.

Delta send me a replacement RP61357OB. Problem is the old one is stuck, won’t easily unscrew counterclockwise. I called Delta & was told to use hot water/vinegar at the wall. Makes no sense as the threading is in the nose. Please advise for safe removal.

The wall pipe connection

does the 61357 use the same wall fitting conection as the rp-5834 Thanks Richard
Asked by: Richard
Thank you for your question. While the fitting connection is the same for both Delta part #RP5834 and Delta part #RP61357, the design of the tub spout may require the addition of a brass adapter to insure proper installation.
