Hi kbh33, Thank you for your question. When installing the RP64721 slip-on tub spout, the tubing should be cut 1 ½ – 2 ¾” from the finished wall.

How does the tub spout RP64721SS slip on adapt to 1/2 pipe thread attachment?
Thank you for your question, dumber 55! This tub spout can either be installed as a slip-on to 1/2" copper pipe and held on with a set screw or threaded directly onto 1/2" IPS. The spout includes a threaded adapter however this can be removed if it is not needed. Further information on installing this tub spout can be found in the Maintenance and Installation manual on page 5.

Screw-on installation
My copper pipe extends 3 7/8 inches from the wall and is threaded at the end. Will this product fit that connection? If not, do you have a tub spout that does?

The RP64721SS will not work on your current pipe. When installing this slip-on tub spout, the tubing should be cut 1 ½ – 2 ¾” from the finished wall with a tubing cutter. We do not have an available tub spout in the Brushed Stainless Steel finish that would attached to your 3 7/8 pipe.

I need installation instructions for RP64721 tub spout deverter
Here's the deal, just bought kit #B114900. States to use install instructions with tub spout. THERE ARE NONE!! It is Sunday, and I can't even download a set of instructions. I am very unhappy and cannot believe There are no install instructions to be found!!!
Thank you for your question. We apologize that your tub spout did not include the instructions. They should have been on the bag itself. Included here are the instructions for installing a typical 1300/1400 series faucet. Your spout is a slip-on spout for a 1/2" copper pipe and also has a removalble threaded adapter for a 1/2" iron pipe. Your instructions are on page 7.

I also did not receive instructions for the RP64721 spout which came in the B114900-SS kit. How long should the copper pipe extend from the wall?
According to Delta customer service I called on 8/23/17 copper stub out is 1/4" to 1/2" I have used this product some years ago ,do not recall stub out being so short. Have always had good results with this spout

I've done the slip on installation and tightened with the set screw. The spout itself seems free to spin around that connection though. Is that normal? How do I stop that rotation?
Thank you for your question, eric93. The insert will unscrew from the tub spout near the front for a threaded connection. Please ensure that the insert is fully threaded into the spout (but avoid over-tightening) before tightening the set screw. We also recommend using a thin bead of silicone between the spout and wall to help secure it as well.

No installation instructions included - will this work on a Delta Copper sweat pipe?
I am updating from an old Delta spout that is fit on what is described in other of your manuals as a "copper sweat" installation. This unit appears to be for a smooth 1/2" copper pipe. Can it be made to work on the threaded "copper sweat"? (C3 in the drawing attached).
So, the answer is no. Is there a stainless tub spout with a diverter that will fit this connection? I would rather not cut holes in walls and re-pipe. Just want to go from the old brass to Stainless. I was able to change everything else easily. The info on the site was misleading as it indicated that it would fit all three types of pipe...

Thank you for your question. The part in the photo appears to be an older version of our RP12307 adapter. The RP17453SS or the RP19820SS will work with this adapter. The RP19820SS has a different adapter, but will work with the RP12307.

I purchased the BT13410-SS trim which comes with this faucet. Everything has been a perfect match to replace the old parts of the Model #1348 except for the faucet (old RP5834). It will not slip or screw onto the old adapter attached to the copper pipe.
I'm sorry for any inconvenience, AnniBee82. Unfortunately, it will not work with the adapter for the RP5834 tub spout. However, you can reuse the RP5834 or purchase any model that includes the RP12307 adapter.
The RP64721 spout will slip onto 1/2" copper piping that extends 1 1/4” to 1 1/2” from the finished wall. The slip-on adapter can be removed to allow it to thread into a 1/2" nipple that extends 3 7/8" - 4" from the wall.

Is there a tub spout in Oil Rubbed Bronze that is similar to RP64721OB that will work with RP12307? Is there an adapter that can be used to make these two work together? Please do not use acronyms. My experience with customer service has not been good.

The Adapter W/ O-Ring MODEL#: RP12307 adapter works with tub spouts that thread on to 1/2" iron pipe or brazed onto 1/2" smooth copper. You could alternatively order the Tri-Universal Tub Spout adapter MODEL#: RP100154 which will cover all installation requirements.

When I screw the insert in until o-ring seats, set screw is out of line with weep hole. Is there any reason to not drill a new hole through black and white plastic to receive set screw from metal collar at 6:00?

The Delta Faucet part RP17453 Tub Spout - Pull-Down Diverter In Chrome can be sweat onto 1/2" C.W.T. or thread onto 1/2" IPS and the Delta Faucet part RP64721OB Foundations® Tub Spout - Pull-Up Diverter In Oil Rubbed Bronze can be installed slipped onto a 1/2 in. C.W.T and has a removable threaded adapter for a 1/2 in. IPS. If the current spout was thread onto 1/2" IPS the current replacement you have is compatible. Otherwise, the Delta Faucet part RP61357OB Delta® Tub Spout - Pull-Up Diverter In Oil Rubbed Bronze would be recommended.
