Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed diverter I have the Trinsic line in black. It looks great. The tub faucet totally failed after less than 1.5 years and showed signs of failure in less than a year after installation. I'm really disappointed because other component in the line seem to be holding up so far.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tub spout fails quickly As others have reported, the seal or mechanism fails, and the tub spout leaks heavily and does not divert properly.
Date published: 2026-07-04
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not metal We were disappointed to find out it was made of plastic.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks great... works not so great I'm writing this on behalf of my girlfriend who actually owns the Delta tub & shower unit, but I'm the one who removed the tub spout from the wall to find out why it suddenly stopped diverting. I actually sold Delta hardware years ago, so I told her I'd take a look for her. It turns out that the sealing gasket for the diverter gate was shot, only two years after installation. Although it's been a lot of years since selling Delta fixtures, Ii absolutely remember the quality of the builds being much better back then, with parts rarely wearing out under anything but extreme usage. As a previous reviewer mentioned, "Delta, do better".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tub Spout [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We needed a tub spout to coordinate with a shower trim our clients purchased on their own. It matched perfectly and was easy to install.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Updated 80’s Bath [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replaced and updated all the fixtures in our 80’s upstairs bath in this matte black. It now looks like a new bathroom. I really like the look and they don’t show water spots and haven’t chipped so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product but opt for built in diverter on shower valve if possible! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The product is nice and the plating looks to be well done. Not a fan of the pull tab type spouts but that is all that would work with this shower set up.

does this spout ship with an adaptor for NPT installation?

the price book is showing this includes a universal adapter. the spouts we have do not have an adapter and there is no parts breakdown for this. Under the T&S parts breakdown no adapter is shown.
Asked by: DAWN
Hi Dawn, Thank you for your question. The RP73371 Diverter tub spout is a slip on spout made to go over 1/2" copper pipe. The white insert in the spout is the adapter. The spout does not come with a NPT option. Thanks, Dave

Dear Brad, Thank you for your inquiry! The RP73371SS is the tub spout that comes with the Trinsic 14 Series Tub and Shower T14459-SS model. The tub spout will include a brass slip-on adapter (RP33794) that you can remove from the tub spout. The 1/2" copper pipe should extend 2" to 4" from the finished wall. Install the adapter so that there is a 1/4" to 1/2" between the adapter and the finished wall. Tighten the set screw, then thread the tub spout onto the adapter. Tub spout I purchased, marked 00125-773502 L-2-3, came with adaptor. Manual page 5, C-4, suggests soldering adaptor to copper. But it has an inner O-ring, therefore can't solder. Or is it a slip-on as in C-1? Is that O-ring is enough of a seal?

I just installed the trinsic tub spout with shower diverter. But when the bath is on, the pressure causes the shower to turn on a bit.  it appears there is a black plastic obstruction preventing the tub spout water to flow freely. Can I cut that out?

Asked by: Mitchellized
Good afternoon Mitchellized, Thank you for your question. We are happy to help! The shower rise, or stacking, you are describing with your Delta Faucet RP73371BL tub spout can be caused by several reasons. The tub spout should not be restricting the water and we would not recommend cutting the tub spout. 1) The valve could be upside down. 2) The length from the valve to the tub spout is outside of the 8" to 18" distance. 3) Something other than ½" smooth copper or galvanized pipe was used going to the spout. No push fittings. No "shark-bite" fittings. No cast or drop ear elbows. 4) Something restricting the water flow to the spout, e.g. solder or something lodged in the pipe. If this is the cause of shower-rise it is possible to remove the blockage by removing the tub spout; then, feeding a plumber’s snake or a speedometer cable up through the tub drop. The act of feeding it causes it to twirl and loosen the blockage. Be sure to flush the valve before reinstalling the tub spout. Be sure to check the tub spout itself for blockage. Please reach out directly at customerservice@deltafaucet.com or 1-800-345-DELTA if you have any questions or need additional assistance. We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to serve you! Best regards, Bryan
