Tub spout fails quickly
As others have reported, the seal or mechanism fails, and the tub spout leaks heavily and does not divert properly.

Looks great... works not so great
I'm writing this on behalf of my girlfriend who actually owns the Delta tub & shower unit, but I'm the one who removed the tub spout from the wall to find out why it suddenly stopped diverting. I actually sold Delta hardware years ago, so I told her I'd take a look for her. It turns out that the sealing gasket for the diverter gate was shot, only two years after installation. Although it's been a lot of years since selling Delta fixtures, Ii absolutely remember the quality of the builds being much better back then, with parts rarely wearing out under anything but extreme usage. As a previous reviewer mentioned, "Delta, do better".

Updated 80’s Bath

Good Product but opt for built in diverter on shower valve if possible!

Thank you for your inquiry! The RP73371SS is the tub spout that comes with the Trinsic 14 Series Tub and Shower T14459-SS model. The tub spout will include a brass slip-on adapter (RP33794) that you can remove from the tub spout. The 1/2" copper pipe should extend 2" to 4" from the finished wall. Install the adapter so that there is a 1/4" to 1/2" between the adapter and the finished wall. Tighten the set screw, then thread the tub spout onto the adapter. Please page 5 of the below Maintenance/Installation document link, for these directions.

Thank you for your inquiry, David! This tub spout is only designed for a slip-on connection to a 1/2" smooth copper pipe with the set screw as seen on page 5 module 2 C-1 of the maintenance and installation manual (link below). The o-ring inside the tub spout will provide a proper seal.

Tub spout I purchased, marked 00125-773502 L-2-3, came with adaptor. Manual page 5, C-4, suggests soldering adaptor to copper. But it has an inner O-ring, therefore can't solder. Or is it a slip-on as in C-1? Is that O-ring is enough of a seal?

Can I use the Delta Faucet RP12307 Adapter with O-Ring with this tub spout?

Thank you for your inquiry. The RP73371BL tub spout is only meant to be used with the slip on adapter RP33794 and unfortunately can not be interchanged with the RP123007 adapter.

This tub spout came with my shower/tub model T17T459-H2O. Tub spout came with a brass tub adaptor which includes 2 o-rings & set screw to install the brass adaptor. How far should brass adaptor slide over the 1/2" copper line to tighten set screw?

Thank you for your question! We recommend that the copper pipe be 2" to 4" from the finished wall. The back of the adapter should be 1/4" to 1/2" from the finished wall when installed.
