I just bought this spout as part of the 144996C-OB kit, in the installation instructions it states that the RP81273 has a set screw for slip on applications, but on my spout there is just a notch where this set screw should be.

Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 144996C-OB.
The included tub spout should be the similar RP61357OB. It installs to a threaded iron pipe 3 7/8”- 4” from the wall. See the instructions on page six here:

Help! Looking for replacement tub spout with diverter ; color ORB. Updating older 600 Series with Delta kit RP54870RB. Need new diverter tub spout. NOTE: current tub spout uses a 1.25" threaded connection. Any suggestion?? THANKS in advance for your help.

Our Delta Faucet WINDEMERE® Tub Spout - Pull-Up Diverter MODEL#: RP81273OB has a removable threaded adapter, the 600 series shower tub spouts used a brass adapter RP12307. We do not currently have any OB tub spout with this adapter, I would recommend looking into the Venetian bronze RP42915RB tub spout. Please see the link below.
