Bad product, leaky diverter
Adding to the chorus of people who have this faucet and the diverter failed. Super frustrating. I have reached out to Delta for help - will see if they respond, I am not happy to have to hire a plumber.

Garbage
Absolute garbage. Must hold up the diverter for 5 seconds before the shower activates. Even then, water still comes out of the tub spout. Need to rip up the wall to replace the valve now for a trim with an integrated diverter. What an absolutely waste.

After only a few days, the pull thing at the top to divert water to the shower stopped holding water.

Looks great...poor internals.
We purchased this extended spout due to tub requirements almost 2 years ago. It looks great but almost immediately after installing, the diverter leaks like a sieve when diverting water to the shower head. We've lived with this for so long as this was in a spare bathroom but we are now looking to replace the spout as the wasted water is just too much. It's a real shame to have spent so much money on a poor design.

Do not purchase!!! Doesn’t last!!
We had this installed professionally and after less than a year the diverter has failed. We took it apart to find the plastic cover on the seal is cracked. This will only get worse. This looks great but doesn’t last. Very frustrating to spend so much to have it fail after 9 months. I am not even sure we can get a replacement part. Very disappointed in delta. Not sure I’d buy another delta product again.

spout leaks - terrible product
I had the initial spout professionally installed and a replacement spout installed by the same folks and both spouts leak progressively worse over time, when the shower is diverted. For such a simple task, this product fails completely.

How long is this spout?

On the underside by the wall there is a small opening. When using the diverter to shower, water is pouring out the hole. What does this indicate that needs to be fixed? I need to communicate the issue to my plumber.

It can be caused by damage to the o-rings in the spout. The tub spout may need to be replaced. I first recommend unscrewing the spout from the adapter. Check that the large o-ring on the adapter is present and undamaged.
