PRODUCT FEATURES
Create a truly custom shower with this HydraChoice® 1-Spray Body Spray. Spray heads extend out of the wall when the water is turned on. Users can simply press the spray heads back into position when they are finished showering. Spray heads are easy and affordable to swap out, offering choice and differentiation in spray pattern and pressure before and after installation. By simply removing a set screw, you can transform your shower experience from a soothing to massaging or invigorating spray option. A 1/2 in. rough-in allows the body spray trim and spray head installation to occur after the rough-in stage is complete and the wall surface has been finished. Adjust the spray 50° in any direction to help you aim the water where you want it. Choose between a round or square trim option (sold separately) and 4, interchangeable spray heads (sold separately) with H2Okinetic® Technology or Touch Clean® spray holes. Available spray options are Invigorating, Soothing, Massaging and Full Spray.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The item is easy to install and performs well. Make sure to check the type of body spray you are plumbed for. These body sprays require that you use the delta body and also the delta drop ear. They are not surface mount.

Body Sprayers- A nice update and work well
I had a previous Delta body wash sprayer that was installed in 2018. It started to develop problems related to mineral deposits in our water (about 110 grains). I consider our water to be moderately hard, typical of many cities. This greatly reduced the water flow. I worked with Delta and after troubleshooting with them and trying the suggestions they gave me they sent me this model of sprayer since the model that I had was discontinued and there was no appreciable change to the sprayer force. It is a completely different design that appears to be able to handle the minerals in our water much better. All that has been needed so far is just rubbing my thumb across the little rubber nubs and the minerals come off easily.
The rest of my shower components already have this style of spray head that is easily cleaned and they have worked exceptionally well for several years. While this took time to install (and uninstall the previous sprayer) it has been worth the time. I also noticed that the range of swivel motion is excellent, perhaps 30 degrees or slightly more, so it can accommodate a tall or short person much better than before. When finished I just push the heads back in to the recessed holder (they pop out on their own) with my index finger (or I could leave it out, does not really matter). I understand that there are 4 different head styles available and while I do not have the other spray patterns it looks like swapping them out should only take about 2 minutes (if your slow).
In working with the service team I will say that Delta stands behind their products, which I have not experienced with other companies to this degree. While it took a few calls to get things correct they were nice and helpful each time. If purchasing a product from a company I think it is important (or perhaps the most important) to consider the support and parts availability. Delta excels at both.
I am currently working to upgrade another bathroom that is many years long overdue. For the reasons listed above I am going with Delta products (and having one vendor for all the faucets in my house makes support down the road easier as well).

How many GPM? Do each of different heads have the same GPM?

Thank you for your question! The flow rate is determined by the HydraChoice trim that you use. Our current selection has a flow rate of 1.0 gallons per minute. Each head will have the same flow rate.

The documents/specifications online do not indicate the clearance needed behind the finished wall. I would like to know this measurement as I am remodeling a shower that is against concrete block walls. Thank you.

How far will the water in the shower once the body spray is being used for a shower without doors
Thank you for your question, Joseph! The distance the water sprays out of our body jets/sprays depends on your PSI. This also depends on the type of spray you are using. For example, our H20 Kinetic body sprays are mainly used for massaging so they are a little more powerful. This means the water flow may be a little farther than the other body sprays and body jets we manufacture. The water also turns into a mist towards the end of the stream which should be taken into consideration for a open shower.

What is the GPM rating and at what PSI???

Thank you for your question on the Delta product. The SH5000-BL has a flow rate of 1.0 gpm (gallons per minute) at 80 PSI.

Do these particular body sprays retract when you turn them off?
Thank you for your question, MissyM! The spray head will need to be manually pressed back into the trim to dock it. They will automatically eject from the trim when the water is diverted to the body sprays. Please see the video on the page linked below to see it in action.

Do the heads recess automatically after you shut the water off?
Hi Al, Thank you for your question. The SH5000-CZ hydrachoice spray heads do not recess automatically when the water is shut off. The heads would have to be manually pushed back into the body.
