Rated 3 out of 5 by from We have had to repair it for drips twice within 18 months. We picked this because we wanted a tub/shower device that would control the volume as well as the temperature. It is pretty, but this is the second time in fewer than 18 months since we had it installed that we have had to repair the valve or the valve seals and springs due to dripping from the tub faucet. That is a lot of repairs for something so expensive. Delta's customer service people have been excellent in helping us figure out how to repair it--knowledgeable, kind, and quick to answer to the phone. Their how-to videos are good too. their warranty has been great. But I would rather have a valve that didn't drip so often.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this Delta to replace a builder grade shower control and love getting in the shower and not having to adjust the temperature of the water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the functionality and finish [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This type of trim allows the user to select the temperature separate from the volume of water...heat and volume are separate. This function is great if a lower volume is desired while being able to control temperature. It is also streamlined into a single stem with two integrated handles. Champagne Bronze finish is gorgeous.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty lines [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this in polished nickel to replace my existing chrome American Standard Balanced Trim Valve. I also purchased other items in the "Cassidy" line. Unfortunately, we discovered that Delta is not compatible with the plumbing for American Standard, so we had to return and buy another American Standard in polished nickel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shower control [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We did a new bathroom and bought this about 8 months ago, and had it installed about 4 months ago. This is a great shower system. What I like the most is the ability to use a handheld and the shower head at the same time. Also, the memory for the temperature is a great feature. Just a really nice looking control with great features. I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Form and Function! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have purchased two of these, with the valve and shower head, and absolutely love them for their looks and function. The best feature is that it keeps the temperature setting fixed on the small lever, and the large lever is just for volume (on/off). Smooth handle operation, great finish, great price point. And my plumber loves Delta.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks good and works great [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've used this trim on a couple of jobs and in our personal shower. We have received no complaints or call backs from our customers. The trim looks good and works great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from how does it work? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] we are enjoying our Delta valve, but I have to say that guests; that take a shower in that bathroom; sometimes get confused on how to use it. I try to explain before they use it...and there's not much else I can do once they get naked and attempt to shower.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Control for the money! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I install this Monitor 17 line of shower bodies when ever customers don't go for the high end control. Still top of the list with ease of installation and overall appearance. Why the volume lever is metal and the temp plastic, I have yet to figure out. Probably the only thing I can say bad about it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best faucet ever [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had four of these in my home and have had zero issues or problems- these are great for the kids because the temperature is set so we don't have to worry about them jumping into a shower with too hot of water because the temperature is set.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Grrrrrrr Plumber installed with all new rough in valve and pipes for a new installation in new construction. No hot water and cannot turn on and off except by limiting with the diverter, which also won't work as it should. Waiting on the third cartridge from Delta. Meantime, there's been water running in my bathroom for over a week. We cannot very well shut off the water to the whole house, and we've been hiking to the basement to shower for over a month. Unhappy all around. To make it worse this is all behind new tile, which had to be cut through.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great features! This is my first time using a shower valve control with a thermostat selector. If set too far in the 'hot' direction the water comes out scalding immediately. I watched a YouTube video to learn how to adjust the water temperature and all it takes is a few clicks. I recommend having the plumber adjust the settings BEFORE he leaves the job. Water flow is excellent.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a true dual temperature control I bought the entire Cassidy line for my new bathroom. I have 2 of these in my master shower. The reason I paid extra money for the dual temperature control is because I wanted to be able to turn down the water pressure when I really wasn't using the water like when washing hair, or my kids are playing with water from the other shower head while I'm using one full blast, etc., and still keep my hot shower temperature I like. This does NOT do this. When you turn down the water to a low volume, the temperature turns cold and not usable for a shower! I contacted Delta about this and they are sending me a part to connect in between my shower pipe and my shower head and it has a little valve where I'll be able to adjust the volume of water up there and not need to adjust it actually on this handle. So I'm really at a loss as what the purpose is to have the separate temperature control. I suppose it would be possible to have the volume of water on high and turn the temperature to freezing cold. I have no need to ever do this, not even for cleaning the shower. I probably won't even use the part they are sending me because it will lower my shower head by the length of the part, probably an inch and a half and my husband already wishes the shower head were higher. (When determining the height of the shower pipe, we didn't consider the shower pipe the head attaches to usually hangs down a few inches, lowering the shower head. We did add a goose neck one though to raise it back up.) The stainless finish actually stains much like a stainless steel appliance does with water marks. On a side note.... Bronze finish fixtures get damaged in about 6 months from my experience on other fixtures, including Delta. It's just a very thin coat of paint that is easily damaged by cleaners and the bronze also turns green from a reaction with (city) water over time. I've never heard of this problem with the brushed nickel fixtures, which is the only thing I'll consider going forward.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of our best decisions! I love that the preferred water temperature is always set and I simply choose the strength of the spray. We are water consumption conscious and, along with one of the Speakman shower heads, have the perfect low flow, generous coverage with the ease of always having the right temperature within a couple of minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very elegant and easy to operate Love the look and easy cleaning although it gets water spots but wipes out easily. Love the two handle and the ease of switching to hot and cold and controlling the flow water with a different handle. I use Delta in all my bathrooms and the sink faucets for 10 years still shining so I trust Delta product and will use them.

Q&A

What is the MultiChoice Universal rough? And why do I need to purchase it separately?

I am not understanding what it is and what is the difference between with and without. And can you explain the difference between the 17 and the 17T?
Asked by: Sue
Hi Sue, Thank you for your questions. The T17097-PN is the trim that you see on the outside of the wall and the cartridge for the valve body. The R10000 is the Multichoice universal rough in valve, the part that gets plumbed into the wall. You must have both pieces for a complete faucet. The T17 has a dual function pressure balance cartridge that allows you to control temperature and volume on your faucet. The T17T has a dual function thermostatic cartridge to control temperature and volume. The T17T has a higher flow rate and is not affected by the seasonal temperature of the water coming into the faucet. Thanks, Dave

Extension for shower

We just built a new shower. The plumber installed the 17097. Then our tile man did his thing. The shower is now ready for the outside of the faucet to be installed. But the thing that comes out of the wall is too short to work. We cannot chip the new tile out, it would ruin the shower. Is there an an extension we can attach to the whatever it is called that comes out of the wall to attach the rest of the shower faucet to? Help! Thanks Colleen
Asked by: Colleen
Hi Colleen, I am sorry to hear about the trouble that you are having with your faucet and I would be happy to help. Unfortunately, we do not manufacture extensions for our showers. I apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.

The Cassidy line has a french curve handle. Can this be installed on the single hole lavatory faucets and shower sets?

If you cannot use this handle on the whole collection, what's the point?
Asked by: cindy
Hi Cindy, Thank you for your question. The french curve handle will not work on the Cassidy single hole lav faucets or the 17 series tub/shower faucets. The handles are compatible with the Cassidy 2 handle lav faucets and the 13/14 series tub/shower faucets. Thanks, Dave

Parts needed for a shower and tub combi

Hello, I am remodeling and will have a shower and tub combo with 1 shower only. I am getting the 51708 hand held. Here are the parts I think I need. Can you tell me what else is needed to complete tub shower combo please and if the parts I have below will work? I think I'll need something to divert shower to the tub - I do like the cassidy collection and would like to match if posisible. -51708 handheld shower - R10000 UNBX multi tub shower valve - 505060 elbow - RP62149 tub spout - T17097 trim for temp and volume
Asked by: tiffanie
Hi, Tiffanie! Thank you for your question. We would recommend a diverter tub spout. The diverter tub spout in the Cassidy collection is RP72565. Here is a link to the diverter tub spout: https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/RP72565 Best Regards, Rosanna

I have a T17097-CZ . I want to adjust the water temp. How do I get the knob off to adjust the water temp.

Asked by: ponycars
Hi, ponycars! Thank you for your question. The temperature knob on the Delta T17097-CZ shower trim kit pulls straight off by hand to remove. Best Regards, Rosanna

The difference in the ceramic cartridge T17T vs the silicone cartridge T17, how does the difference impact the life performance of the unit?

Will the silicone version require replacement or repair after a period of time? Is there a warranty on the silicone vs. the ceramic cartridge? Thanks!
Asked by: Chris
Hi Chris, Thank you for your question. Both 17 and 17T units are covered under our Lifetime Warranty on parts and finish. While the TempAssure cartridge of the 17T series should last longer, both Monitor and TempAssure models are designed to last. Thanks, Jon

What’s the difference between all of the following Rough Valves?

What’s the difference between all of the following Rough Valves? R10000-IP R10000-IPWS R10000-PX R10000-PXWS R10000-UN R10000-UNBX R10000-UNBXT R10000-UNWS
Asked by: Richard
Thank you for your question. The roughs are basically the same, it is just the piping used that makes the difference. The models with IP are used with iron pipe, the models with PX are used with pex pipe, and the models with BX can be used with copper, iron pipe, pex, or CPVC piping. WS stands for "with screwdriver stops" which means you can turn the water off at the shower without turning it off in the whole house. The BX in the model number means it is a single box model. This is only used on the UN model because the R10000-UN has to be ordered in case packs of 12. The T on the R10000-UNBXT means that it is for a thin wall mount which is usually a fiberglass tub.

Can this be Monitor 17 series trim used with a 17T Thermostatic/TempAssure cartridge such as RP47201, or does it have to use a standard 17 series (non Thermostatic/TempAssure) cartridge?

Asked by: Mick
Thank you for your question, MVTX! Although the TempAssure or "Thermostatic" cartridges will fit into the MultiChoice Universal Rough-In Valves, they are slightly longer and require a TempAssure 17T to accommodate the difference. The Cassidy series offers a thermostatic version of this trim as model T17T097. https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/T17T097 Best regards, Edward
