Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap inside parts The thing looks amazing on the outside. But you're getting cheap plastic parts that break or wear out on the inside where it matters. Expect to replace parts on this constantly. Delta faucets have a well-earned reputation for looking great, but not lasting. Every time you turn on your shower, you're one step closer to it breaking.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice function. Stains easily. Bought this two years ago along with model 55085 and Shower in the same finish. If you have well water, even though you have a high end water softener, this model will stain badly. Very disappointing. Given the high-end price we paid. We have much cheaper faucet fixtures in the same finish with a different manufacturer that don’t stain at all. Seems like they forgot some kind of seal finish on these fixtures.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very disappointed Something this expensive should nor have any plastic pieces. Outer beauty ring broke, called Delta for a replacement, they sent me a beautiful metal replacement that doesn't fit on the model I was sent. Don't waste your $$ on this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the function and style! I selected this for all four bathrooms! It is a simple enough design and function that our guests have no problem figuring out to use them to adjust volume or temperature. Perfect complement to all the fixtures selected for our traditional/transitional home. The Brilliant Stainless is my selection for all of them and that color goes perfectly with brushed nickel from other manufactures of bathroom fixtures that I used. Top rating all the way!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too easy to SCOLD! Pretty, however, this thing can scold you or child or elder with a bump to the volume or temp by accident. Took me 5 minutes to understand and not push wrong direction thinking it did something to help. NOT for small kids or elderly, too easy to scold.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from T17097RB This faucet looks great HOWEVER the circular plate on the front that determines flow of water or temperature (not sure which) pops off every time we use it. We notice it is plastic. Not happy, been on hold for 20 minutes trying to get someone to help us with no response.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Delta Cassidy shower Trim Issue Good looking trim. It had a fitment issue with thermostatic lever. It will not snap flush to the geared piece.

Q&A

Parts needed for a shower and tub combi

Hello, I am remodeling and will have a shower and tub combo with 1 shower only. I am getting the 51708 hand held. Here are the parts I think I need. Can you tell me what else is needed to complete tub shower combo please and if the parts I have below will work? I think I'll need something to divert shower to the tub - I do like the cassidy collection and would like to match if posisible. -51708 handheld shower - R10000 UNBX multi tub shower valve - 505060 elbow - RP62149 tub spout - T17097 trim for temp and volume
Asked by: tiffanie
Hi, Tiffanie! Thank you for your question. We would recommend a diverter tub spout. The diverter tub spout in the Cassidy collection is RP72565. Here is a link to the diverter tub spout: https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/RP72565 Best Regards, Rosanna

The difference in the ceramic cartridge T17T vs the silicone cartridge T17, how does the difference impact the life performance of the unit?

Will the silicone version require replacement or repair after a period of time? Is there a warranty on the silicone vs. the ceramic cartridge? Thanks!
Asked by: Chris
Hi Chris, Thank you for your question. Both 17 and 17T units are covered under our Lifetime Warranty on parts and finish. While the TempAssure cartridge of the 17T series should last longer, both Monitor and TempAssure models are designed to last. Thanks, Jon

Can this be Monitor 17 series trim used with a 17T Thermostatic/TempAssure cartridge such as RP47201, or does it have to use a standard 17 series (non Thermostatic/TempAssure) cartridge?

Asked by: Mick
Thank you for your question, MVTX! Although the TempAssure or "Thermostatic" cartridges will fit into the MultiChoice Universal Rough-In Valves, they are slightly longer and require a TempAssure 17T to accommodate the difference. The Cassidy series offers a thermostatic version of this trim as model T17T097. https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/T17T097 Best regards, Edward

Should volume knob also turn temperature knob?

On the Cassidy MultiChoice 17 Series Valve Trim, when I turn the large rear handle (for volume), it also turns the small front handle (for temperature). This seems odd to me, but my contractor insists that it is correct. Can anyone else comment on whether the temperature handle should turn when the volume handle is turned?
Asked by: edman
Hi Edman, Thank you for your question! The temperature dial does turn with the volume handle. However, the dial will move independently of the volume handle when adjusting the temperature. Thanks, Jon

Can the H795 cross handle by put on the T17T

I need a shower body that this a thermostatic control valve and a volume control. Can I specify T17T with H975 cross handles and Delta R10000 universal multichoice rough. Does the R10000 universal rough come standard with thread female rough-in?
Asked by: Mike
Hi Mike, Thank you for your question! The H795 is a handle for our T13/T14 series and would not work n a T17T cartridge. Also, please is a link to the technical specifications for all of our R10000 rough in valves: http://www.deltafaucet.com/customersupport/documentation/r10000-lbx.html?document=ts&fromDetailArea=bath&documentIndex=0#flashWrapper Best regards, Brandis

Can the Cassidy MultiChoice 17 be used with the High Flow R10000-UNBXHF valve?

I am trying to assemble a custom shower using the Cassidy Collection that will have a separate diverter, hand shower, and a rain can shower head. My model numbers as follows T17097 MONITOR 17, R11000 VALVE ,57021 HANDSHOWER, 50560 ELBOW CONNECTION, RP61273 SHOWER ARM, RP48686 RAINCAN SHOWER HEAD, T11897-LHP CASSIDY DIVERTER, R10000-UNBXHF VALVE. Will all these above listed work together and have I assembled all the necessary parts to complete this type of shower? I also want to make sure I have the correct shower controller. I prefer the controls which will control the water temperature and the water flow separately. Thank you
Asked by: Jan
Jan, thank you for the great question and what a great collection in the Cassidy! The first thing we would like to note is that Delta part #R10000-UNBXHF cannot be hooked up to a tub spout. It is permanently plugged on the tub port. It will work for a shower only application. Of the parts listed, there would also need to be a handle on the order. We would recommend Delta part #H597 which is the handle needed to complete the T11897-LHP (Less Handle Program). Also need to order H597 handle for the T11897-LHP. All of the Delta Faucet "17 series" include a dual function cartridge which will allow you to control the water temperature and water flow separately!

What is the MultiChoice Universal rough? And why do I need to purchase it separately?

I am not understanding what it is and what is the difference between with and without. And can you explain the difference between the 17 and the 17T?
Asked by: Sue
Hi Sue, Thank you for your questions. The T17097-PN is the trim that you see on the outside of the wall and the cartridge for the valve body. The R10000 is the Multichoice universal rough in valve, the part that gets plumbed into the wall. You must have both pieces for a complete faucet. The T17 has a dual function pressure balance cartridge that allows you to control temperature and volume on your faucet. The T17T has a dual function thermostatic cartridge to control temperature and volume. The T17T has a higher flow rate and is not affected by the seasonal temperature of the water coming into the faucet. Thanks, Dave

Extension for shower

We just built a new shower. The plumber installed the 17097. Then our tile man did his thing. The shower is now ready for the outside of the faucet to be installed. But the thing that comes out of the wall is too short to work. We cannot chip the new tile out, it would ruin the shower. Is there an an extension we can attach to the whatever it is called that comes out of the wall to attach the rest of the shower faucet to? Help! Thanks Colleen
Asked by: Colleen
Hi Colleen, I am sorry to hear about the trouble that you are having with your faucet and I would be happy to help. Unfortunately, we do not manufacture extensions for our showers. I apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.
