Delta® showers with Monitor® pressure-balance valves are engineered to make sure you don’t experience a sudden and possibly unsafe change in water temperature as a result of running water elsewhere, such as using a dishwasher, flushing a toilet or running a washing machine. With separate handles for volume and temperature control, this Delta valve provides a more refined showering experience. Simply set the water at your preferred temperature and turn the shower on or off with the volume control handle — without interrupting your set temperature. Only if you must have Delta
If you like Delta this might be your best choice for temp and volume set. It's great if you don't want to be concerned with adjusting temp every time and really good for senior class citizens and those with little kids for the simple reason that getting a blast of water that's too hot is less likely. I do think it's way over priced however when you consider the cost of the inner valve. That piece is beefy brass but still, over priced. I have issues with other shower components (heads and handhelds) made by Delta that are made of plastic so not a fan in general.

Pivotal Valve Trim - does the job!
We're happy with the Pivotal Valve Trim. The functionality works just fine (toggling between our main shower head and rain shower head), though we hardly ever change the settings. Lack of a 5th star due to price (so expensive for what it is) and cleaning (black stainless color leaves annoying water marks).

Unacceptable
Trim pieces did not look like they were of the same finish. Different hues on different pieces straight out of the box. The large handle also had a pitted finish. Absolute junk for this price. I sent it back for a refund.

Delta shower handles
The shower handles are nice but the hot/cold settings on the separate turn handle are not intuitive. Pipes are set properly but hot water is not at the red button

bold design
Looks great and functions perfectly. It's a bold statement in the shower. If you have hard water this much flat surface spots easily .. so take that into consideration when you make your decision!

I purchased the T17099-BL kit. The face plate keeps rotating out of position. It looks like the plumber didn’t install the set screw. Can you tell me what size set screw I need for the face plate?

I've decided on this trim kit. It says to use the R10000-UN rough in valve. It is for a shower only installation. I'm not sure if I need the WSHF with the stops or the BXHF. Not sure what the BX part means. Any help is greatly appreciated.

This tub and shower trim kit can be used with any MultiChoice Universal rough valve body in the R10000 Series, however for a shower only installation, a HF (high flow) model is ideal as it does not have a tub spout port. The BX stands for single box model for valves that can be bought in bulk. The R10000-UNWSHF will work best for your installation.

Is this the trim kit I should get to use with the 51799-BL Pivotal H2Okinetic 3-Setting Slide Bar Hand Shower Faucet with H2okinetic Technology?? I am not using it with a shower head...just using the hand shower, so I don't need a diverter.

Thank you for your question. The Delta Pivotal TempAssure Valve Trim T17T099-SS would be the correct kit, that comes with the RP47201 Thermostatic cartridge assembly in the box.

I need a tub faucet plus handle (non diverting) for a tub. No shower head needed. Can I use this handle with the Trinsic Model#: RP77350?

Yes, this valve trim can be used with a non-diverter tub spout like RP77350. Make sure the R10000 valve rough is not an HF high flow shower only model, and plug the shower outlet.

Besides price, what is the difference between this and the TempAssure® 17T Series Valve Only Trim T17T099 and can I use either with the R1000-UNBX? My intention is to them with a tub spout and a handheld shower.
