I installed this for a client in April 2024 because the brand I normally purchase was out of stock. Had to go back twice because the inside parts came loose. Then yesterday got an emergency call the faucet would not shut off at all. Complete failure. Called Delta but because I was the installer and not the homeowner, they would only deal with them. Fortunately, the supplier gave me a replacement cartridge. For the price clients pay for these things they should be so much more trouble free.

Buyers remorse
I wanted and asked about the material composition of parts of this product, plastic or metal, your reps were unable to provide any information. They instead gave the phone of the manufacturer, Delta. After a two day effort to reach Delta CS I was informed that indeed the the tub spout is made of metal The fact is, it is not. What a sad commentary on online shopping. I was then forced, because of the installation schedule, to purchased a different shower kit from a local retailer. I will certainly never purchase from an online retailer that does not know what they are selling nor are willing to obtain that info for a customer. I Will never make that mistake again. Retailers clueless, manufacturers clueless. Hands on only purchases. If I can not see it, feel it and answer and confirm all my questions at time of purchase , there will be no purchase. I'm certain you can deduce the implication.

Disappointed. Quit working in less than 6 months.
I love the look of this shower faucet. In less than 6 months, the handheld shower head quit working when you change the spray patterns—it doesn’t change so I can’t use the massage or the water save setting. I’m trying to contact the company to see if they’ll stand behind it, but at this rate, I wouldn’t recommend the product if it can’t hold up to 6 months of use.

This Delta - T17433-SS-I shower trim is gorgeous!! I put in my master bath and oh what a difference it has made in the look. My shower and bath now looks so classy and I’m just thrilled with it. I’m on my way to get the rest of the package as I love the look I wanna do my whole bathroom in it!

Beautiful but problems with installation
I really like the look of this in matte black. We had two sets installed in our remodeled bathrooms. The professional installers put these in, and we had issues with them right away. Water leaked out the back side of the faucet while the tap was diverted to the showerhead. They fixed that issue. Only to have another issue with the on/off handles that took a couple hours to fix. (They would not turn off!) Even now, the pieces are working but the hot/cold functions are not consistent from one bathroom to another. I think some of it has to do with the non-intuitive design of the handles. I know I will get used to it, but I would not buy this exact model again.

Delta T17433
This is a pretty set, and functional, but all parts (including the tub spout!) are plastic and lightweight. I'll have to wait to see how they hold up. For the price, I guess I expected something a bit more substantial. I also notice that the handheld shower arm/handle (the part that disconnects) doesn't fit snugly into the shower head and you really have to play with it to get it to stay in. So I'm giving this an "average" rating.

I can't use my hand held separate from the shower head. I can turn on the head and not the shower part. there is no button on the side

Are Delta tub and shower kits interchangeable

Models manufactured in September 2006 or later will have a MultiChoice valve, which will allow you to change the series of trim. MultiChoice series numbers are 13, 14, 17, or 17T.
Units made before this date can be upgraded, but only with a trim of the corresponding series. 1300/1400 Series trims can be replaced with 13/14 Series trim kits using the original RP19804 cartridge, and 1700 Series trims can be replaced with 17 Series trim kits using the RP32104 cartridge.
MultiChoice model cartridges will have a gray top; prior models have a white top.

Does this control the shower and the faucet? what controls the water temp..

Thank you for your question and we are happy to help! The Delta Monitor 17 Series Tub And Shower Trim Model T17433-SS-I has two controls. The lever adjusts the volume (for the showerhead) and the dial adjusts the temperature (for both the showerhead and the tub spout). are all the choices you have for tub and shower are just the shower head... and I need to find the faucet to go with it? Or perhaps the picture that is what you get? Shower head, tub faucet and hardware to turn shower head and faucet on?
