What rough in do i need for this particular trim kit for a roman tub?

On my Trinsic T2759, I found one inlet tube in the rough-in to face away from the spout like instructions say, and one tube to face in towards the spout. Is this correct, tubes installed away from spout? How can I change this, can it be done from above?
