Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap plastic limit stop For every day use it’s a nice controller but it’s so cheaply made. The plastic temperature limit stop behind the outer temperature handle is made of plastic and has broken twice in 12 months. For the price this cost it’s junk.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Functional but not impressive It works. Doesn't feel especially solid, and operation is counterintuitive for most of our guests. Also far too expensive given the material and that you'll still need to buy the valve body separately.

I am trying to figure out the difference between this valve trim with 3 vs 6 settings. Please explain. I would like to have both a fixed shower head and a shower wand that can be switched and would like to know which is the most appropriate model.

Asked by: DougP
Thank you for your inquiry, DougP! The Delta Contemporary 17 Series Valve Trim with 3-Setting Integrated Diverter T27859-RB trim kit will allow you to run the hand shower, and shower head separately and also at the same time. The 6-Setting trim would be used if you are installing an extra showering unit such as an extra shower head, body sprays or another hand shower. Best regards, Tanya

Hi Barry, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! The Contemporary Two Handle Monitor® 17 Series Valve Trim MODEL#: T27859 temperature cap can be removed by using your fingers to grip the edges of the round portion of the cap and then lift up from the bottom to the top to remove. From there you can remove the rest of the handle parts. Please see page 6 module 4 of the Maintenance/Installation guide. We capped pipe on the left and connected the pipe on right to handshower and shower did not work. Is there a diverter cartridge we can buy so water will flow to right instead? We want to remedy without destroying tiles around the valves

Asked by: Cecile
Hi Cecile, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model T27859-SS. Yes, a 6-function RP51919 cartridge can be used instead of the 3-function cartridge. This will divert water to the outlets, but some of the diverter positions will be dead spots. Please reach out if you have any additional questions! The handle doesn’t cut off water totally, just lowers volume. To turn water off I have been using diverted. What is the solution?

Asked by: Kat22

Why can’t I shut off water using the volume control? I have to use diverter to shut off water.

Asked by: Kat22

why is it not recommended to use with tub spout? I don't understand a previous answer stating that the "spout will not have a positive shut off while the shower components are in use." what does this mean? thank you

Asked by: erica
Good morning erica! Thank you for your question! I am happy to help you. If you choose to use this shower system with a tub spout, the tub spout must be a non diverting tub spout. However. we do not recommend using a diverter to control a tub spout for the following reasons: As the diverter cartridge was designed to supply water to shower heads, body sprays and hand showers, the flow from the tub spout could be noticeably reduced compared to the standard direct flow from the control valve. There is no “fix” for that. Depending on the configuration of the fixtures, this may be between 0.3gpm to 1.5gpm. The homeowner will end up with the tub spout turning on while in a shared position, which can happen every time they change from body spray to hand shower for instance. Just because it’s okay for them, the next person to buy the home may not be happy with it at all. Use of the optional non-shared 2 or 3 function cartridge will prevent this. If not using one of the recommended tub spouts, when the diverter handle is left in the tub spout position, a column of water will be trapped in the pipe down to the spout. Until air can enter the pipe, this water may drip out slowly over a period of days. The user may mistake this for a cartridge leak. To prevent this locked water, the diverter handle will need to be moved to a shared position - spout and shower head would be best, as spout and hand shower will not work due to backflow protection. Spout and body spray(s) may or may not work depending on the height of the body spray. Please contact us back for any further questions. Best Regards, Frank

I installed Trinsic 17 Series T27859 on top off the R22000 Multichoice Rough. I have 3 different water outputs connected to the R22000 but the T27859 only controls 2. Could I install a different cartridge to control 3 units individually? How to fix this?

Asked by: Lobsterroll
Hello Lobsterroll! Thank you for your question! I will be happy to assist. The model T17859 uses a 3 setting 2 port diverter cartridge. You are able to purchase RP51919, a 6 setting diverter cartridge to open up all 3 ports. Your feedback is important to us, as it helps us refine our products and services. Feel free to contact us directly, if you need further assistance. Best Regards, Kyra

Hello Customer, Thank you for your question. We are happy to help! The R22000-WS valve rough includes stops on the shower valve to turn off the water. This can be convenient if it is otherwise difficult to turn off the water supply to the shower for maintenance. Please reach out directly if you have any questions or need additional assistance. I am considering a T27859 three setting valve trim for a shower head and a handheld only.  What is the appropriate Universal Multichoice integrated diverter to pair with this?

Asked by: resed
Hi resed, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model T27859. The valve and diverter rough for this trim is R22000. Or R22000-WS is the same plus it has integrated shut-off stops that can help with future maintenance if shutoffs for the shower supplies are not easily accessible. HOW DO WE OPERATE T27859 DIVERTER AND MIXING HANDLES?. INSTALLER FAILED TO KEEP OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS AND BARR CODES FOR WARRENTIES.

Asked by: NO WIZZ
Hello! Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! The large handle is volume, so it rotates from 6 o'clock up to about 3 o'clock. The smaller handle located on top of the large handle is the temperature knob. The farther you rotate counterclockwise, the hotter water you will get! The smallest handle at the top is the diverter. It will rotate to two ports only, and will have a shared option between two components. Please note that some areas may have water restriction laws that may prevent the use of a shared option per law. We appreciate your inquiry. Please reach out directly if you have further questions! My water temperature knob will not adjust to colder or hotter it is set in the middle. How can I adjust it to hot only or cold only?

Asked by: Rico

What would make me not get any hot water with this unit. I have hot water in my sink , but only luke warm water in my shower.

Asked by: KayB
Good morning KayB! Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company. We are sorry that you are having a concern with your faucet and will be happy to help you. This shower has a Rotational Limit Stop on it that allows you to limit the amount of hot water that comes through the valve, to prevent scalding. The temperature can be adjusted by rotating the knob on the front of the volume handle. The Rotational Limit Stop can be adjusted to set the maximum temperature. To do this, remove the temperature knob cover by prying it by hand at the tip. This should pop it off of the gray knob, allowing you to remove the Phillips head screw. Pull off the knob to access the RLS and set it to the desired position. Please refer to section 4 of the Installation Instructions for more information. https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/107532%20Rev%20B.pdf We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to serve you!
