Rated 2 out of 5 by from Design flaw Our plumber had to use putty and plumbers tape to keep this from leaking. It leaked anyway. A second attempt seems to be holding. His assessment was that the problem is a design flaw. I was hopeful that by purchasing a Delta diverter for my Delta shower system I would avoid problems. Not so.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work. Not made of brass. I got this about two weeks ago. It seemed well made in my hand, but it does not divert the water to the hand held (downward) opening. I've seen scores of reviews on other sites that say likewise. This is curious. As influenced by my dad who was an aircraft engineer and pilot (WWII and Korea) to examine finished work carefully, I have been struggling to understand how there can be so many bad reviews of a product that works well for roughly 75% of purchasers. I have used a tiny allen wrench to loosen the set screw, and have found performance improved when I replaced it in certain positions. My conclusion it that the assembly process does not have a quality control step to assure the item functions as intended. Not that every piece must be water tested before sale, but the factory should be randomly testing under actual conditions. I believe some workers are performing the steps incorrectly and no one is catching this.

how to connect a shower arm diverter to a delta roman tub faucet

I have a delta roman tub faucet on my whirlpool tub with an aerator (1") that unscrews. Does delta make the 1" to 1/2" connector piece to replace the aerator so that I can add a handheld shower diverter? If not, why not??

Thank you for your question. We do not make an adapter that you can attach to your roman tub spout but we do manufacture a transfer valve that you can add a handshower with by drilling two holes. One is for the handshower and the other is for the transfer valve. For example, Delta Faucet model # RP14979 is available in Chrome, Polished Brass and Stainless Steel.

Can this divertor keep the showerhead and hand shower on at the same time?

Hi Foodpharmacist, Thank you for your question. The U4922-PK shower arm diverter can be installed on the shower arm that comes in the T14286-SHQ shower trim. The diverter will drop the height of the head about 1-1/2". The port for the additional feature will be parallel to the long portion of the shower arm. Thanks, Dave

Does this have a built in backflow preventer? I have an antique tub and the current diverter fittings run in opposite direction of standard. I tried a different brand but because it had a built in backflow preventer it wont work.

How do you replace the washer for the diverter lever inside a MODEL#: U4922-PK? My diverter leaks at the hand shower when not in use and the lever is in the off position while taking a shower using the main shower head.

Hi Randy, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! It is possible that flushing the product could resolve this issue. To do this, turn off the water supplies, remove the cartridge, and turn the supplies back on for one minute. Please make sure that you are getting good flow through both the hot and cold sides while flushing. You can also shake the cartridge back and forth to make sure the back half of the cartridge rattles. This means that the pressure-balancing spool is moving freely, as it should. My 50650-ss (button type diverter) leaks and is difficult to operate. I was going to replace it with a U4929-ss until I read the reviews. Can I replace with with a U4922-pk?

What tool can I use to re-tighten the screw that secures the lever in place? It appears to need an Allen wrench and I need to know what size I need. Thank you!
