Q&A

Im looking for a surface mounted shower diverter that is either or or both. I want to use the shower head and the handheld at the same time. Does such an animal exist? Thanks

Asked by: Larry
Hi, Larry! Thank you for your question. The Delta U4929-PK 3 Way Diverter Assembly does mount onto an existing shower arm for a shower head and hand shower. This will divert the water from hand shower to shower head and both on at once. Best Regards, Rosanna

Will this act like a valve and completely shut off the water flow if the second outlet is capped?

I'd like to install a handheld on a second shower arm and just use this diverter like a valve to turn it on and off
Asked by: Bob
Hi, Bob! Thank you for your question. The diverter, U4929-SS-PK, will not be a complete shut off. We recommend not to cap the outlet because it can cause pressure behind the diverter. Best Regards, Rosanna

what is available to hold the handheld showerhead to the wall or does it just hang on it's cord from the diverter?

I was wondering. If I use this I can have a stationery shower head and connect a handheld also. Where do You mount the handheld when not in use? Does it just hang by it's hose? or is there some kind of a holder/mount in Campagne Bronze? Thanks

Hello, I purchased T14259-LHD, R10000-UNBX, 55085 and 50560. I am feeling a little nervous purchasing this diverter after reading some reviews and am wondering if I could just purchase T11859 to divert the water? Thank you...

Asked by: Belle28
Thank you for your question, Belle28! The T11859 Trinsic trim is the trim piece only and will require the R11000 diverting valve to connect to the R100000-UNBX in order to proceed using a wall elbow. You may also be interested in our integrated diverter trims which include both trims and valves. https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/R11000 https://www.deltafaucet.com/search-results?searchTerm=integrated&searchType=Delta_Default#resultPage=0&offset=1666.666748046875 Best regards, Edward

I just purchased the Matte Black 3-Spray Handheld Shower Item #: 919117| Model #: 55799-BL and need a diverted but I’m not finding one in the matte black finish.  Why have the shower head, arm, faucet and held handheld in this finish but not the diverter?

Asked by: CeeceeBee
Hi, CeeceeBee! Thank you for your question. At this time, we do not make a 3-Way Diverter in the Matte Black finish. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Best Regards, Rosanna

One last question. My tile guy has already installed R10000-UNBX and placed the cement, can I still connect the R11000? If not, what is the best thing to do with these parts: T14259-LHD, R10000-UNBX, 55085 and 50560.

Asked by: Belle28
Hi, Belle28! Thank you for your question. The Delta R11000 Diverter Rough In will need to be installed within the wall. We recommend using the Delta U4929-RB-PK 3 Way Diveter with the Monitor T14259-LHD, MultiChoice Universal R10000-UNBX Rough In Valve Body, 55085 and 50560. Best Regards, Rosanna

Can the lever be moved from the left side to the right side? I am short, and from outside the tub, for rinsing tub or shampooing the dog, it is an extra 2 inch reach.

Asked by: bunkie13
Thank you for your question, bunkie13! If threaded correctly, this diverter can be lined up so the lever faces the left side, however the hand shower hose port will be facing upwards but will still work. Best regards, Edward

Shower Arm Diverter or In-Wall Diverter?

We are completely remodeling our bathroom and adding a tub/shower combination. We want to also have a hand shower. We are looking at using the Delta Compel T17461 with the tub filler with diverter. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using the shower arm diverter vs. one built into the wall? Also, can you tell me if this will reduce the water flow to the normal shower head?
Asked by: robinja
Hi Robinja, Thank you for your question. The shower arm diverter is a quick and easy way to add the hand shower to a tub/shower faucet. The diverter simply screws onto the shower arm and the hand shower hose and fixed shower head are attached to the diverter. The diverter then allows you to choose between using each shower head individually or both at the same time. The in-wall diverter requires a diverter rough, diverter trim, and a wall elbow that will be plumbed in with the tub/shower rough and trim. The in-wall diverter is easier to use and visually a much cleaner look but is more costly. The downside to the shower arm diverter is reaching up to the arm to operate and having everything attached to the same arm is somewhat crowded. Water flow going through the diverter is reduced, but the tub/shower trim should put out enough flow for 2 shower heads assuming you have normal household water pressure. Thanks, Dave

What is the maximum flow rate (gpm) at normal household pressure (40-80 psi) of the U4929 shower arm diverter?

Asked by: Robert
Hi Robert, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet shower arm diverter U4929-PK. The maximum flow rate of a shower will depend on the shower valve used and the home water pressure. Unfortunately, we have not tested the maximum flow rate of this diverter. It can provide enough flow for any two of our showerheads or hand showers. RE this shower arm diverter Model#: U4929-PK 1. Is the lever (to change the spray from shower to handheld shower) made of metal or plastic? 2. Are there any plastic parts inside the diverter? 3. Is the diverter made of brass? Thanks

Asked by: PattiSC
Hi PattiSC, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet U4929-PK. Our Delta product is a mixture of metallic and non-metallic materials. The valve features brass construction. The lever is a plastic material. Quality is very important to us and our products undergo rigorous testing to ensure high-quality performance. Non-metallic products are beneficial in that they do not rust or corrode and help prevent heat transfer. Please contact us directly if you have any additional questions!
