My friend is a master plumber and he always said I dont care what kind you buy as long as its Delta. I purchase 2 of these of these when we moved into my house and an Intuition also. 1 of the 3 way diverters has cracked. Like many others have posted on here. All I have in my house is delta products.

Plastic inside?
Built a new home a few years ago and purchased shower diverter thru the plumbing store because I was told they were better quality, not plastic, like you get at big box stores. Spent the extra money, only to have water shooting out of the diverter switch. Took it apart and found the housing around the switch is plastic and broken, really? This is in an extra bathroom and the shower isn't even used on a daily basis.

Will this act like a valve and completely shut off the water flow if the second outlet is capped?
I'd like to install a handheld on a second shower arm and just use this diverter like a valve to turn it on and off

Thank you for your question. The diverter, U4929-SS-PK, will not be a complete shut off. We recommend not to cap the outlet because it can cause pressure behind the diverter.

Can the lever be moved from the left side to the right side? I am short, and from outside the tub, for rinsing tub or shampooing the dog, it is an extra 2 inch reach.
Thank you for your question, bunkie13! If threaded correctly, this diverter can be lined up so the lever faces the left side, however the hand shower hose port will be facing upwards but will still work.

Shower Arm Diverter or In-Wall Diverter?
We are completely remodeling our bathroom and adding a tub/shower combination. We want to also have a hand shower. We are looking at using the Delta Compel T17461 with the tub filler with diverter. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using the shower arm diverter vs. one built into the wall?
Also, can you tell me if this will reduce the water flow to the normal shower head?
Hi Robinja, Thank you for your question. The shower arm diverter is a quick and easy way to add the hand shower to a tub/shower faucet. The diverter simply screws onto the shower arm and the hand shower hose and fixed shower head are attached to the diverter. The diverter then allows you to choose between using each shower head individually or both at the same time. The in-wall diverter requires a diverter rough, diverter trim, and a wall elbow that will be plumbed in with the tub/shower rough and trim. The in-wall diverter is easier to use and visually a much cleaner look but is more costly. The downside to the shower arm diverter is reaching up to the arm to operate and having everything attached to the same arm is somewhat crowded.
Water flow going through the diverter is reduced, but the tub/shower trim should put out enough flow for 2 shower heads assuming you have normal household water pressure.

Which diverter valve is better?
Is this diverter valve better to use than the U4923-PK? I want to run my showerhead and my hand shower simultaneously.

Specifications for Diverter Valve 4929PK
I recently bought this product and two pieces of information were not available:
- All brass construction. Does this apply to the entire product or just the valve. The handle that switches the flow appears to be chrome-covered plastic. What is the base/structural material of the handle? Is it covered under the lifetime warranty? Is it replaceable by the consumer or must the entire valve be replaced?
- The shower output and handheld output (in my use) both appear to have flow limiting orifices. The handheld output flow limiter appears to be removable by plumbers hex wrench. The shower limiter does not appear removable other than by drilling through brass. What is the GPM output for both shower and handheld? Are my assumptions regarding remove-ability correct? Would a careful drilling of the shower output to approximately the size of the input likely cause valve failure? Would it void the warranty?
Thank you for your questions. Delta Faucet model # 4929PK is a brass constructed model. However, the handle is a non-metallic composite. There is a lifetime warranty to the original owner.
The gpm on the devices that you are running through the diverter differ depending on the device. You will need to check with the specs for the device. We do not recommend drilling of any kind on our valves and it does void the warranty if drilling occurs.

what is available to hold the handheld showerhead to the wall or does it just hang on it's cord from the diverter?
I was wondering. If I use this I can have a stationery shower head and connect a handheld also. Where do You mount the handheld when not in use?
Does it just hang by it's hose? or is there some kind of a holder/mount in Campagne Bronze?

Flow Restrictors
Do all the 3-Way shower arm diverters have flow restrictors? My heads also have restrictors and I don't want it doubled up.
I saw a similar question asked and it was said to refer to the specs for flow levels. I cant find that information in the spec sheet or manual I downloaded.
