I ordered the 1940LF-H-AR hot spout. Is there any safety feature on this product to prevent child scalding?

Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 1940LF-H-RB.
Faucet safety features include a spring-loaded, self-closing handle and an insulated body and spout to reduce heat transfer to faucet. To use the faucet, the handle is pushed backward to help avoid accidents.
This is designed to provide near boiling water. The recommended tank has temperature control from 190°F to 210°F.

Our Delta insta hot dispenser will occasionally spurt and sputter with the spring loaded valve completely closed. Is this some sort of pressure relief function? Is the water temperature set too hot? Failing cartridge/valve? Thanks very much!
