Attractive pieces for safety!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this line of hardware for use by people with different abilities. I have used most of the related pieces and find clients love that they don't look like clumsy commercial grab bars. In particular the last pieces I used in a new "in-law" suite for an elderly man, who ranted & raved at how wonderful, customized and safe his new place felt!

Double towel bar
Towel bar does its job. Its mounted higher on the wall so it is not used as a grab bar. Purchased a 2nd one in chrome. This review, for another bath reno.

Product fails
I purchased a Delta towel rack. The screw connecting the rack to the mounting hardware didn't work. I tried multiple fixes and contacted their warranty department. I was on hold for over 3 hours before they disconnected me. Just before disconnect they had they said I had to contact a different company and they never contacted me.

What is an Assist bar and what does it do; this is for the towel holder and tissue holder?

Thank you for your question. The assist bar that comes with the Delta Traditional 24" Towel Bar with Assist Bar 41319 model, is designed for bathroom support. Assist and Grab bars are safety devices designed to enable a person to maintain balance, lessen fatigue while standing, assist in holding some of their weight while maneuvering, or have something to grab onto in case of a slip or fall.

Can this be used in a shower?

Unfortunately, it is not recommend to install this in the shower as it could cause the towel bar to rust and/or degrade the finish. 1) Can this be mounted on a 45˚ diagonal? 2) Can it be used inside a shower?

Thank you for your question. The Delta 41319-RB Towel Bar with Assist Bar can be installed in a shower. Wood blocking is preferable behind all wall surfaces. If wood blocking is not available, the supplied fasteners are recommended. The maximum 300 lbs. will work as an assist bar on indicated surface when properly installed.
