Bonnet nut was never mentioned. I am forced to stop and put back the old system so that I can turn the whole-house water back on. I am searching online to find the correct part of the bonnet nut. The Documents & Specs section shows only product height, not helpful at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delta RP22734 Unplated Replacement Bonnet You need this part when replacing the cartridge if it's been in place for a while. Old ones are very difficult to remove and you may need to cut it off like I did.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buy several at once You will need them. I am re-stocking because my contractor installed three of this type faucet in my house. This class of Delta faucet suffers from two design defects. First, the cartridge assembly has very weak keying to the body so it gradually rotates out if line in use, and the water volume drops off. You will occasionally need to disassemble the faucet and re-seat it. Since they are all installed in tile walls it was too much trouble to replace these faucets with something else. Second, the cartridge is retained by this bonnet nut that has a very large thread contact area to the faucet body, and corrosion-welds itself to the faucet body. The only way to remove the bonnet after a while is to destroy it. Best way is use a hacksaw or cutting wheel to cut through one side, then using a hammer and cold chisel work around the bonnet and gradually pry the threads away from the body. I found that by being careful I have been able to remove them and leave the faucet body threads still usable.

Does this bonnet nut fit the Monitor Series 1700 (Model T17455)?

The existing bonnet nut is seized; I have followed the recommendation to use a 50/50 solution of water and vinegar to no avail. I want to purchase the bonnet nut in case the existing one gets damaged upon removal.

When I removed the bonnet on a bathroom sink faucet the core rotated about  60 degrees. If I put this RP22734 bonnet on the core should I be able to rotate the core back into position?

Thank you for your question, Steve. This bonnet nut is only designed to work with Delta shower valves. If you turn off the water supplies and remove the bonnet nut you will be able to reposition the stem unit. Best regards, Jon

My Monitor 1400 series w/clear handle has white cartridge top; presuming its RP19804. Behind handle are two chrome-plated cylinders (both ~2-1/8" OD). The one nearest handle is ~5/8" wide. The one nearest wall is ~1-11/16" wide. Which is the nut?
