Why plastic instead of brass?
This thing always had a sloppy, wobbly action, until it broke. The pieces show that the plumber must’ve cranked that Allen wrench hard, to screw through the plastic, because the tab on the handle doesn’t fit snugly into the slot on the piece. No wonder it’s been discontinued, and the non-compatible new ones seem to have brass parts, but I can’t find any that fit RP 37902. My plumber said he’s never seen a part discontinued without there being a replacement, and this plastic part is truly a bad design.

Very long process
This extension started failing about 10 years ago and finally failed completely. It took many experts both local and afar to figure out what this part was? One of your centers took the time to open an older parts book and locate it, but not before selling me a whole new valve for $103.00. Returned for credit and then got the help needed. Ferguson was a joke no help there at all! Finally after identifying the part number Delta came through and sent a new extension... no charge!

Hello,I am need of replacing the Stem extender for my shower system. Its a 3 function RP37902. And the on/off main valve also needs replacing. Wondering if you guys would know the part number for that? I'm assuming it would be a pretty common valve

Is this the stem extender for the 3 function shower? What is the part number for the 6 function shower?

This is a 3-function stem extender used with cartridge RP42410. The 6-function stem extender is RP37903.

wondering the length? And if this would fit a RP37901 Sleeve for a T18255 series delta. My extender broke and most appear too long

I believe this is the piece that I need to replace. Is there also a piece that goes inside the wand turn handle that connects to the end of this piece?

Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company about RP37902! I have included a general parts list showing if updating the trim on a R11600 you will need to order RP37902 (3 function stem extender) OR RP37903 (6 function stem extender) and RP37890 (extension screw) to use the new trim.

If you are not updating the trim kit and just replacing a part for your shower, you should not need any additional parts unless they are damaged or needing replacement.
