Q&A
Why is a tub spout application not recommended.
I am trying to understand why one of the outputs on this valve can not be a tub spout. I love the idea of temperature, flow control and diverter in one unit.
Please advise.
Thanks.
Hi PeggySue,
Thank you for your question. We do not recommend to connect a tub spout to a diverter valve because flow will be reduced. To get the full flow rate from the tub spout, it should be connected to the bottom port of an R10000 valve.
Best regards,
Jon

What is temp assure?
Hi, Ronnie!
Thank you for your question. TempAssure Thermostatic cartridge measures and monitors the temperature of the water and automatically adjusts to maintain a more precise water temperature. Learn more about our TempAssure Valves here:

You do not recommend connecting a tub spout to one of the ports due to reduced flow rate - what is the difference in flow rate if the tub spout IS connected to this unit vs. the recommended R10000 valve? Is flow rate the only concern?
Hi Divertthermvol seeker,
Thank you for your question. This valve is not designed to be used with a tub spout. However, you may connect a non-diverter tub spout to one of the diverter ports as a temperature tester. Since the flow rate from the spout would be lower than a standard installation, we do not recommended to use it as a tub filler. The flow rate at 80 PSI is between 5.6 gpm and 7.4 gpm depending on the series of trim/cartridge used.
Best regards,
Tanya

Is Delta 17T available in Polished Nickel
Hi Suttles Plumbing,
Thanks for your question. This model is available in Chrome, Venetian Bronze, and Stainless Steel. We do not currently have a valve trim with an integrated diverter in the Polished Nickel finish.

Jon

If you have three components, A, B, and C, do I understand correctly that the six possible settings are A alone, B alone, C alone, AB, AC, BC, but that there is no option for all three ABC at the same time?
Hi, Randy!
Thank you for your question. The T27T997 6 setting diverter trim has 3 individual settings and 3 shared settings. The 3 shared settings have two shower components on at the same time. There is not a setting to have three on at once.

Rosanna

Would this diverter work with the 17 T/18T Lahera series? We have the traditional, the handheld, and we added rain shower. Plumber initially suggested above 3 way diverter would work; now say we need: You need Delta 6 setting diverter cartridge PR51919
Hi, Thank you for contacting us.
We apologize for any inconvenience with your Delta Faucet Company product. I am also more than happy to have this opportunity to help you.
The 3-way is for 2 products such as a shower head and a hand held. When there are more than 2 products it would require the 6-way.
Please contact us back if you have any questions or if you need further assistance you may call us at 1-800-345-3358. We are open Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM central time, and 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday. Thank you for your cooperation.
Best Regards,
Bethany

What is the diameter of the trim? I am replacing an existing shower head, etc and do not want to replace the marble if possible.
Hi, LouL!
Thank you for your question. The T27T997 escutcheon plate has a 7" diameter. You can view this here:

Will this work 4 different showering options
I am installing a shower head, a rain shower , body sprays and a hand shower. Will this valve be able to control two options at a time plus a single option?
Hi Dave,
Thank you for your question. This will allow you to divert between 3 showering component and will allow you to run them individually or paired with another component. A set of body sprays is considered one component.
To run 4 items, we recommend installing two separate valves each with a 2-port 3-setting diverter.
Best regards,
Jon
