When Hotel Renegade opened in Boise, Idaho, it didn't whisper its story, it told it boldly. From layered materials to immersive guestroom bathrooms, the hotel delivers an experience that feels cinematic, tactile, and unapologetically bold. At the center of that experience is a design approach that blends rugged character with refined details, and plumbing fixtures that elevate everyday moments into something memorable.

Designed by ESG Architecture & Design, Hotel Renegade is rooted in storytelling. Each space reflects a carefully curated persona, anchored by the renegade spirit of classic Western Hollywood and interpreted through a modern, boutique lens. And in the guest rooms, Delta bath fixtures play a key role in bringing that story to life.

Designing an Experience, Not Just a Room

Hotel Renegade is part of a portfolio developed by Hendricks Commercial Properties and operated by Geronimo Hospitality Group, a team known for creating hotels with strong identities. For this project, the design narrative drew inspiration from larger‑than‑life personalities and translated them into texture and mood.

According to Ann Fritz, Principal and Interior Designer at ESG, the goal was to create something immersive without being literal.

"We didn't want it to feel like a theme hotel in an obvious way," Fritz explains. "Instead, it's about rugged materials, warmth, and authenticity—elements that feel lived‑in, layered, and timeless."

Throughout the hotel, guests encounter solid wood vanities, leather accents, velvet textures, and lighting that feels more like jewelry than utility. That same philosophy carries into the bathrooms, where functionality and indulgence meet.

The Bathroom as a Destination

At Hotel Renegade, the bathroom isn't an afterthought, it's a destination. Oversized showers, striking tilework, and carefully chosen fixtures transform a daily routine into a moment of escape.

"They wanted the shower to be an experience," says Fritz. "Something you wouldn't have at home—oversized, glassy, with beautiful hardware and details that make you want to stay in there longer."

Delta's bath fixtures create that spa‑like feeling, while maintaining water efficiency, an important balance for ESG as designers.

"I was happy that the faucets we selected are more efficient in terms of flow rate," Fritz notes. "Even when the focus is on experience, performance still matters."

A Study in Contrast: Modern Fixtures, Rustic Surroundings

One of the defining design strategies at Hotel Renegade is contrast. The guest rooms lean into warmth and texture—wood with knots and imperfections, leather, wool, and stone while the plumbing fixtures introduce a sleek, modern counterpoint.

"We liked that the fixtures were really modern and sleek, while everything else in the room is a little more rustic," Fritz says. "That push and pull is what makes the space interesting."

The broad Delta product portfolio made it possible to maintain that cohesion across room types, from standard kings to double queens to expansive suites.

"We could use one manufacturer that gave us a breadth of styles and formats that worked with different plumbing needs throughout the hotel," Fritz explains. "From wall‑mounted faucets to tub fillers, wet bars, and powder baths—it all worked together."

In the suites, statement moments like a hammered copper freestanding tub are paired with Delta floor mount tub fillers that feel intentional rather than overpowering, allowing the tub itself to remain the star.
