If the cartridge needs replaced could it stop the hot water from my tankless water heater. I am only getting Luke warm water from this faucet, all other faucet are getting hot water. It has been getting worse over the last month.

No square base block to lock down faucet to countertop was included but shown in instructions. How is this faucet attached?
