Hi Li1973, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 19867LF-SS. The waterway has exposed metal, which may contain nickel. The Brilliance stainless finish has durable layers covering the nickel layer of the finish. A different model with DST diamond seal technology does not have any exposed metal in the waterway. And a Brilliance finish is recommended to durably cover nickel in the finish. For example, model 19846Z-SS-DST. Please reach out with any additional questions! I recommend flushing the unit, we recommend the following: Start with the easy stuff: Remove your aerator, wand or hose to check the flow through the unit without that part installed. If the flow is good, the piece you’ve removed is where the issue is. Soaking the part in a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water could help remove any particles or debris blocking the flow. If the water does not have a good flow, the problem could be in the faucet. Next, check the supply lines for debris: Turn the supply off to both the hot and cold-water lines. Once off, turn the handle on the faucet to the on position and leave it there to bleed the lines of any excess water. Next, disconnect the hot water supply line and place it inside a bucket. Once the line is securely positioned into the bucket, turn on the cold-water supply. Please contact us back if you have any questions or need further assistance. I am updating my question - So I feel super silly. Had the plumber come out again and he had the handle down and was waiting for hot water. It can take a minute or two in our kitchen. I told him, no - the handle goes up for hot water. He said no it's down and sure enough the hot water came through. He said since I was used to German models/makes thats why the confusion. All my previous faucets were hot turned up, and cold down.

I already did this. There were no problems coming from the valves.

When water heaters are replaced or when the water is shut off debris can flow through quickly when water is turned back on. With the issue that you are experiencing, the faucet will need to be flushed. Please refer to the information below to flush your faucet. *Please gather one 5 GAL bucket and some towels for excess water. 1. Please shut off both hot AND cold water supplies. 2. Remove the COLD water line and point the line into the bucket. 3. Turn the HOT water on and allow the water to flow into the bucket for about a minute. 4. Turn the HOT water back off and install the cold water line correctly. 5. Remove the HOT water line and point the line into the bucket. 6. Turn the COLD water on and allow the water to flow into the bucket for about a minute. 7. Turn the COLD water back off and install the hot water line correctly. We appreciate your inquiry.
