How do I clean my Delta air gap? Water seeps out of the hole onto the counter. I can't figure out what to remove to run a bottle brush down the tube to clear it. Thanks.

It is most often installed for use with dishwashers. The air gap prevents the dirty water leaving the dishwasher from getting back into the dishwasher. What exactly is the kitchen air gap, what is it used for and how and where is it installed. Is it something that helps with the water pressure?

An air gap is installed to prevent backflow or backsiphonage of non potable water into potable water systems. It is most often installed for use with dishwashers. The air gap prevents the dirty water leaving the dishwasher from getting back into the dishwasher and are typically installed on the counter nearest to the dishwasher. To install the air gap, you will need to connect the larger leg below the counter to a garbage disposal or sink trap and the smaller leg to the hose from the dishwasher. Only the cover and a few inches of the body will be visible from above the counter as the collar gasket and nut will hold the air gap in place. Why is the bottom ring around the air gap WHITE?

I have customers complain that the rim around where the cap fits down over the air gap is WHITE and stands out! It looks tacky.

Thank you for your concern. Delta Faucet model # 72020-RB has a ring around the bottom to keep the finish from coming in contact with water. Our R & D department has been looking at a better design for the Venetian Bronze finish but at this point, it is the only way this product is available.

Is the 2 1/8” measurement not include the collar at the bottom of the cover?

I want to purchase a new Delta pull down faucet in Venetian Bronze and I want to replace my current chrome air gap cover with this one to match. My current cover measures a little more than 2 1.8”. I was wondering if this one will fit.

Hi. I tried to install my new 72020-SS air gap but the body has openings for two lines and I only have one line coming from the dishwasher. I don't have a line coming from my disposal. Is there a different body I can buy with an opening for a single hose?
