Typically, when red spots appear on a Stainless Steel Sink like ours it is simply surface discoloration. This is usually taken care of permanently with a stainless steel polish and/or cleaner when used according to the directions of the cleaning product. Products such as Bar Keeper’s friend and a fine 3M Scotch Brite pad are both great options. Hey Ilikeitbut39, Any sink can be undermounted as long as it’s adequately supported (note that the supplied hardware will not work and you’ll have to provide your own) and the joint between the rim and the underside of the countertop has a continuous seal. Just be aware that in addition to voiding your warranty you’ll most likely be on your own with regard to customer support if you decide to deviate from the manufacturer’s intended installation method and/or modify the sink in any way.  Good luck!

Hi Jake, Thanks for reaching out. All of our Farmhouse sinks offer a 9" apron. We will also be updating our specification sheet to include this as the specification shown measures more than just the apron front. Please review the guideline below per your request. Please Note: The step-by-step guideline below is a general reference for installing the Kraus Farmhouse Sink. Please keep in mind that this is a custom installation. Delta recommends installing all Delta products by hiring a licensed, professional plumber. Step 1: Measures for Supports Measure the "true" height of the sink, from where the top aligns with the countertop surface to the bottom of the sink’s sides, which will rest on the supports. Transfer this measurement to the interior cabinet sides and mark a level line from back to front. This is where the supports will be added to carry the weight of the sink. Step 2: Install the Supports On each cabinet side, install 2" x 4' supports. Position the tops of the supports so that they are even with the level lines. Use construction adhesive and 1-5/8" square-drive deck screws to attach the supports. First, apply the adhesive then clamp the supports firmly in place, then drive the screws through the cabinet sides into each support. Step 3: Cut the Cabinet Front Measure the height of the sink front, and add 1/8” to this dimension when you mark the base cabinet front cutout. This allows the sink to rest just above the cut edge, without being supported by it. Depending on your base cabinet, it may be necessary to remove the doors and replace them with smaller doors. Use a jig saw to cut out the sink-front opening. Step 4: Install the Sink Test-fit the sink in the opening. The entire weight of the sink should be carried by the side supports. Check that the sink is level from side to side and front to back. If necessary, add tapered wood shims to adjust. Install the sink and use silicone caulk to fill in the gaps below the sink front, and between the sink and countertop.

This sink also also requires a minimum cabinet size: 48" Left to Right, 24" Front to Back. Our Rivet and Lorelai sinks also offer the same finish, however, the radius of the corners in our Rivet Sink Collection are sharper. Rivet sinks offer an R0 radius in the vertical walls and an R5 radius in horizontal front and rear walls to aide in ease of cleaning and drainage. Hope this helps.
