Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy way to get peace of mind while hydrating your family. I installed this Delta water filtration system tonight, and so far I'm pretty happy with it. As far as installation goes, I'd rate it about a 2/10 for difficulty. If you have some basic hand tools and have used them before, you shouldn't have any issues installing this yourself. Delta has a video online that walks you through the installation process, which was really helpful. I watched it once before getting started and that was pretty much all I needed. It also gave me an excuse to clean out underneath my sink, which was probably overdue anyway. Once I had everything cleared out, it took me about 30 minutes to get everything installed and have my water running again. As far as water quality goes, it seems to work pretty well. I've got a fairly decent filtration system on my refrigerator already, so I've been comparing the two. Both seem to perform pretty similarly. Neither has a noticeable chlorine taste or anything else that seems off. If anything, the water from the Delta system might taste a little better, but it's hard to say for sure at this point. One thing I would mention is that the system takes up quite a bit of vertical space underneath the sink. You'll definitely want to make sure you have enough room before purchasing it. I don't see it being much of an issue under most kitchen sinks, but I could see it being a little more challenging to fit under a bathroom vanity where space is usually pretty limited. Overall, I'm happy with it so far. Installation was easy, the instructions were straightforward, and the water quality seems good. It'll be interesting to see how it holds up over time and how well the filters perform after they've had some use, but so far I don't have any complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gives crystal clear water This water filter gives crystal clear delicious water from the kitchen sink. My husband installed installed it under the sink and didn't have too much difficulty, other than the LED display doesn't automatically light up like the manual says it should, but it does display potable water when running cold water so it is working. Previously our water would have a bunch of air bubbles in it and a slight mineral taste, now the water comes out crystal clear with no gases and tastes so fresh & clean. I love that the filter lasts an entire year, that is what sold me on it. So happy to have good filtered water for my family & pets!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great taste, no more water refills at the store I have used this for a little bit over a month, I waited to see if it works sufficiently, and it’s worked really good ever since I got it. Setting it up was really easy as well. It wasn’t heavy, and we got it under the sink quickly. The water tastes refreshing, and looks great. I’m glad I don’t have to go back every second to fix something new, the maintenance was so much better than I would’ve ever thought.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install! This filter was shockingly easy to install! Took about 20 minutes. And unlike other similar filters it allows you to see how much filter life is left. The cartridge is very easy to install, just make sure you mount it high enough to easily screw in and out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to install This Delta water filter system is very sturdy. It was easy to install under our kitchen sink. It would have been more helpful to have lines to both cold and hold water but it does its job. I do think that it was a little on the expensive side. It worked great and water tastes good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's wonderful The Delta Clarifi High Flow Carbon Filter is wonderful. It was so easy to install, I did the whole thing by myself in under an hour (honestly I kept going back and forth with the instructions to be extra sure I was doing it right, so others would probably get this done way faster lol). It is much bigger than I thought it was going to be, but it fit just fine under my sink. The water is noticeably cleaner and fresher, I guess is how I would describe it. I will be getting another one for a different sink because I think it really makes a difference.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from disappointed I was very excited to use this water filter. Installation was relatively straightforward. It provides a template, however it makes no mention of the lateral clearance requirements, which it absolutely needs, and required me to drill a few extra holes after finding that out. The hookup process wasn't bad. The trouble came when I went to test it. I installed it on my bar sink, and I was not able to get a decent amount of flow to come out of the faucet with the filter installed, even after following the troubleshooting steps

Q&A

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How should I decide which filter system to use?

Choosing the right water filter depends on your specific needs, water quality, budget, and installation preferences. Our two-stage system requires a dedicated beverage faucet and filters more contaminants, while the single stage system connects directly to your existing faucet with minimal effort.

Start by identifying the contaminants in your water. Check your local water utility’s Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) using our Water Quality Look-Up Tool or test your water with a DIY kit or professional service. Choose a filter that fits your installation needs and is certified to remove the contaminants you’re targeting.

Under-sink filters strike a balance of convenience, effectiveness and affordability for most households, especially if your focus is cleaner drinking and cooking water.

Is the filter system hard to install?

The Clarifiâ„¢ system is designed for simple, DIY installation and comes with detailed instructions through the user guide and installation videos. However, the difficulty can depend on your DIY skills, tools and existing plumbing setup.

Tools You Might Need:

  • Screwdriver
  • Drill
  • Teflon tape (for threaded connections)

Note that this system can only be installed to a cold-water line. Running hot water through the system will cause damage.

What do I need to know about replacing the filter cartridges?

The filters will need to be replaced about every 1 year or after it’s filtered 10,000 gallons, whichever comes first. The system will use audible alerts and the LCD digital display to notify you when it’s time to replace the filter.

You can order the replacement filter through our website or other vendors. Other brand filters are not compatible with the Delta system.

We designed the filters to be quick and easy to replace. Simply remove the old cartridge and install the new one with simple twist and lock quarter turn mechanism.

After you’re done, the filter cartridges can be thrown away. They cannot be recycled but are not hazardous waste, so standard disposal is okay.

How long do the batteries last? Is there an AC adapter I can use?

The system is designed to only be used with AA batteries. AC power cannot be used.

The 3 included AA batteries last at least 2 years with a multiyear battery life.

Why do I need to flush the system for 10 minutes after install?

The flush primes the filter, ensuring you don’t drink gritty or off-tasting water later and the filter is saturated for optimal performance. Until the flush is done, the water might not meet the taste or clarity you expect from a new filter.

The filters are made of food-grade, nontoxic materials, so the flush water is not dangerous. However, we recommend caution when trying to re-use this water by watering plants as the carbon particles may affect sensitive plants.

How do I know the filter is working?

There are a few signs you can look for to tell if your new filter is working.

  1. Improved taste and odor: To test this, you can sample regular tap water from a separate faucet and do a side-by-side comparison against the filtered water.
  2. Clean water appearance: No visible particles, cloudiness or discoloration should be present.
  3. Proper flow rate: A dramatic decrease in flow rate could indicate clogging. Check your lines for debris or your home's water quality. The more contaminated your water, you may need to replace filters more frequently.
  4. Effective chlorine reduction: You can use a chlorine test strip to confirm the carbon filter is working.
