Looks great, but does not work !
This Delta1002ss soap dispenser looks great but does not work ! I installed this pump new and it never worked right out of the box. It would put out a drop or two when pressed down and then take about 30 seconds to come back up to allow me to press it back down again to get another drop or two. At this rate it would take 2 hours to wash my dishes ! Can I please get another plastic body assembly and gasket base with a lubricated O ring to replace this brand new defective one ? Works great and nice looking but tricky to fill
I've used Delta's Rp1001SS for decades. I thought I'd try a Rp1002SS for a different look while remodeling our kitchen. It's looks ok but on the first filling I had soap everywhere.I used the funnel but my guess is that the hand soap was to thick and it backed up. Not a great first impression.
I've never had trouble with the RP1001 series, they have a bigger bottle.

RP1002CZ Champagne Bronze Soap Dispenser
The soap dispenser is poorly constructed and is very wobbly when pumping for soap as it spins around freely in any direction. I would have expected a lot better quality for a delta item to match the multiple hundreds of dollar sink faucet purchase. I have tried everything to make the dispenser more sturdy but it continues to be loose and difficult to pump soap from.

Poor performance
I bought this along with a new Delta Kitchen Sink Faucet. The faucet works fine, but this soap dispenser handle/plunger is very loose in the base and barely allows any soap to dispense when pushed down. I cannot recommend this design and I am returning this unit to exchange for a better design that hopefully works properly.

how is the pump portion attached/removed ? I have the replacement pump but cannot remove the original
Thank you for your question, BillS! To replace the pump, lift the head and pump assembly from the base and pull the pump away from the head assembly. Slide the head onto the new pump and slide them back into the base.

RegModel RP1002RB Sink Soap Dispenser
This is barely 9 months in use and there is slight leak of dishwashing detergent between the dispenser cap and the countertop. What is causing this and How do I stop this ?

My soap dispenser at first gave a full sized squirt of soap. Now it barely gives a tiny drop.

Does base on unit screw off?
We were thinking of replacing the soap dispenser with a different Delta dispenser, with a different base. The new unit has a base that actually unscrews from the post. I was wondering if the base on the RP1002 has the feature of being able to unscrew from post? Would save a lot of needless crawling under the sink.

Thank you for your question. The soap dispenser would need to be unscrewed at the locknut underneath the sink to uninstall the unit from your sink top. The base of soap dispenser cannot be unscrewed from the top of the sink.

Length of drop
Need length of drop of dispense arm reach and if measurement from center or base. Granite installers placed hole for dispenser farther back and soap drips on granite. I'm looking for a slightly longer reach.

What is the difference between RP1001 and RP1002? The RP1002 had bad eveiws.
Thank you for your question, AES63! Model RP1001 will come with a 10 ounce bottle. RP1002 includes a 13 ounce bottle and has a slightly longer dispenser head. Stylistically they are also designed to compliment different models. Either model will come with the Delta Lifetime Limited Warranty.
