I just received replacement part RP19804 and I'm having trouble getting the bonnet nut to brake loose. Would soaking it over night with a rag soaked in white vinegar help? Or, is there another solution to my problem?
Thank you for your inquiry! The bonnet ring should unscrew counter-clockwise for you. If it will not unscrew for you, then I would suggest using a 50/50 or stronger mixture of tap water and white vinegar. Soak a rag in the mixture and wrap the rag around the bonnet ring area. Use tongs if necessary. Leave the rag in place for 15 minutes or so. This should help dissolve the calcium build up, so that the bonnet ring will unscrew for you. Remove the rag and attempt to unscrew the bonnet ring or you can leave it on so that you do not scratch the bonnet ring with your tool. Make sure that the entire valve body does not start to rotate as you do this. Repeat if necessary up to 4 times, taking care to protect surfaces that may be damaged by vinegar. The white vinegar can stain porous stones like granite, limestone and marble.

New rp19804 low hot water pressure
Installed a new RP19804 last month, the flow/pressue of hot water has dramatically decreased. Cold water is fine and hot water is normal for the rest of the house. What could be causing this?
I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing low flow from your shower unit. You may have some debris trapped in the valve body or cartridge assembly that is blocking the water flow.
You may need to clean out the cartridge assembly and flush out the valve body. First turn off the water supply to the faucet. Remove the handle assembly, unscrew the bonnet ring and remove the cartridge assembly and all seals. Rinse and clean the cartridge out thoroughly. Turn both the hot and cold water back on for 10 to 15 seconds to flush out the valve body. After the allotted time, turn the water off and reinstall all of the components. Make sure that there is no debris on the cartridge assembly and seals.
If this does not resolve your issue, then the cartridge assembly may need to be replaced.

Looking to change shower trim on 1996 single lever multi choice with temp adjustment at tip of handle.
Cartridge works fine. Do I need to change it before I can change to modern brushed trim? If so, which cartridge?
Thank you for your question! You can install any 13/14 series trim kit on the existing valve using the original cartridge or a new RP19804.

My house was built in 1999. We are trying to replace out 1400 series with a 1700 series TRIM KIT. The cartridges are different.
The 1700 cartridge is too narrow where the water comes in.
This is a picture of the 1700 cartridge. The holes in the 1400are farther apart. We are trying not to have to replace the plumbing in the wall. Which cartridge will work will my 1400 series without a major plumbing job?
Thank you for your question. If you want to replace your 1400 series trim with a new T17 series trim, you will need to replace the whole valve body inside of your wall. If you do not wish do do that, we recommend using T13 or T14 series trim to replace your existing 1400 series trim. You will need to use the same RP19804 cartridge, not the new cartridge that comes with the T13/T14 series units.

Brand New RP19804 Cartridge Not Supplying Hot Water
Just purchased the pre-2006 Delta Monitor 1300/1400 cartridge at Home Depot. Our house was built in 2003. Installation was easy, but now only warm water (at best) flows when the tub/shower valve is in the full on/hot position. The new design tab is set at the maximum hot water position. The cartridge is placed in the pipe with the "H" placed on the correct side. Previously had hot water with the old Delta cartridge. Any ideas on how to solve this new dilemma?
Thank you for your question! The cartridge has a Rotational Limit Stop which can be adjusted to allow you turn the handle further on the hot side. Newer units will have a gray stop that you can pull out, rotate, and set back into place. Each notch will change the maximum temperature 3-6 degrees. Please click the link below to view our How-To Video for adjusting the RLS.

1400 series tub faucet
house built in year 2000. little of no hot water comes out, ok on cold side.
Thank you for you question Jackie!
The RP19804 cartridge has a pressure balance spool inside that may not be working correctly due to mineral buildup. The cartridge can be taken apart to reveal this pressure balance spool. Rinse generously and re-assemble the cartridge. Before re-inserting, you will also want to flush out the valve to ensure no debris enters the cartridge. I will include a link below on how to flush your shower valve. If this does not help then the cartridge may need replaced.

What In2ition trim kit will work with this?
I have a Delta 144710-SSI In2ition tub/shower trim kit, but this requires a different cartridge. Does Delta make any trim kits that have a similar appearance that will work with the RP19804?
Thank you for your question! The RP19804 (1400 series) cartridge will allow you to install any 14 series trim kit. Simply use the original valve and cartridge instead of the RP46074 that is included with the trim.
