Thank you for your question. The RP27527 is a stem extender that works in our older 2 handle shower faucets. The series number for the shower unit is 2300 series.

I need to replace the Stem Unit Assembly RP1740, so, I removed the set screw holding the handle, but the handle is stuck on the Stem Extender RP27527 due to age buildup. what is the best way to remove the handle without breaking the stem extender end ?
Thank you for your question, Alex! The best way to remove hard water buildup or mineral deposits is by soaking a rag in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water and wrapping it around the affected area for thirty minutes or more. Stubborn deposits may require this to be left on overnight.

Does the h24 handles fit on this product? If not what handles do?

Thank you for your inquiry! Yes, the Delta H24 Handle assemblies will work with the RP27527 Stem Extenders for the older 2 and 3 handle shower and tub/shower faucets.

Would you need to shut the water off to change this extension only
Thank you for your question, Pete! You will need to turn off the water supply in order to change a stem extender as the screw-on sleeve that holds this in place, also holds the stem unit assembly to the pressurized valve body. Depending on the age of the valve, there may be a screw-driver stop located directly on the valve to make this easier.

Is Delta Stem Extender RP27527 the right part to go with diverter RP10799?
