Turns wrong way.
We ordered a Delta Porter style toilet lever (78460-ORB) because we couldn't find a Delta Windemere style to go with our towel bars and TP holder. It looked close enough so we were ok with that part. BTW, got it in oil rubbed bronze. First I had to trim the square shank to fit into the toilet square handle hole. But What I really don't like, and the specs/info never said, is that the handle is spring loaded and does a quarter twist in only one direction. Now we have to pull the handle up to flush the toilet. The standard should be to push the handle down to flush the toilet. The wife won't be happy when she gets home and tries to flush the way she has been doing for 30 years.
BTW, it a side mount on the left side (as you look at it) of toilet.

Does not fit perfectly
I bought this handle for another toilet in my house last year. We like it and it works great. This one was for a different brand toilet that needed handle replacement. Although the handle is supposedly universal, it did not quite fit perfectly on this Kohler model. We made it work, but it was not possible to tighten the handle completely or it would interfere with the internal parts. It does function now after much maneuvering, but is not perfect. Perhaps should have returned it.

Toilet tank lever.
Not as “proud”. Replaced one that wouldn’t let the seat stay up. Looks good. Nice finish. The rest of our brass is shiny but this fits in ok.

Q&A
I have an a toilet that is 24 years old. The hole that the lever goes through is an oval hole 1 inch by 3/4 inch.
Will the lever bolt fit through this size hole. Can I purchase the lever 79760-cz. will it fit. the specs show a nut at 1 and 1/8 inch but what size is the bolt that goes through the tank.
Hi Dave, Thank you for your question. The bolt size of the tank lever 79760-CZ is approximately 9/16" outside diameter. The lever has a 5/8" square behind the threaded bolt that fits into the toilet tank opening. We would not recommend our tank lever for the 1" x 3/4" oval opening on your toilet tank.

Is it possible to reverse direction of the lever?
Is it possible to reverse direction of the lever action? I have a Toto toilet that the handle mounts on the left side and would like to have the lever point forward instead of to the rear. The only way I see to do this is if you push the lever up to flush which does not seem normal. Is there a method to install with the lever forward and pushing down?
Hi Bob, Thank you for your question. The flush mechanism on the model 79760-CZ only travels in a counter-clockwise direction. So even though you can position the handle and the flush arm in different configurations, the mechanism only moves in on direction. So, handle pointing back, flushing down, and handle pointing forward, flushing up are your two choices for a left side mount.

New universal mount handle
I was informed that all your tank levers have changed to be universal mount (side or front). When did this change happen and can you tell the difference between the old style and the new by model numbers or any other way? The old style look to have metal lift levers vs. plastic for the new. Is this the case, and is the attachment section different?
Hi Bob, Thank you for your question. This change to the universal mount was rolling change that started May of 2013. The model numbers for the levers did not change. You are correct that the old models have metal lift levers and the new do not. The attachment at the tank is no different.
