PRODUCT FEATURES
The solenoid assembly enables your Delta Touch2O® widespread, pull-down kitchen faucet. It senses your touch and shows the water temperature. Consider replacing this part if you notice either of these two issues: The faucet keeps dripping until you move the handle to OFF, even after you’ve flushed the system. Or Touch activation works only sometimes, and you’ve already ruled out other causes (improper installation, metal shank touching the sink, loose wires, battery pack in the wrong spot, or tapping the faucet incorrectly).
  • To ensure compability with your faucet, location a sticker on the solenoid assembly with a part number. Part numbers that work with this replacement solenoid are X00090220 or X00074949

REVIEWS
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Original valve lasted almost 6 years; just outside the warranty period. The second replacement valve I purchased lasted 15 months. The last one I purchased has lasted 3 months before failing. The quality of this product appears to be plummeting. I strongly recommend you do not purchase this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slower Solenoid Eliminates Hammer This kit is designed as a replacement for both older valves (mine) and the newer version. There is a bag of parts in the kit not mentioned in the directions, and for older faucets, you will need both parts. The O-ring going into the adapter leaked, but hiding in this extra bag was a replacement O-ring that did the trick. The sense wire to the faucet was barely long enough and the side of the solenoid that the wire is on it had to be orientated facing the faucet for the wire to reach. Another wire wasn't even close to reaching, but there was a long jumper in the bag that solved that. Slower solenoid is nice, but a solid brass unit would have been more in line with the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gimmick Alert!!! Total Junk! Gimmick Alert! Whatever you do don’t add this feature. I also think this part is the worst. Replaced it in 2020 according to the sticker, and now again in 2025 not to mention all the times the batteries have been replaced. Oh yeah guess what when the electronics malfunction you can’t turn on the sink! At least make it so you can manually override without calling a plumber. 4$ per month to turn on the sink one look at the part and it’s clear the thing didn’t cost $10. A complete gimmick I wish they would discontinue so my wife would quit making me replace it. Pictures show the original unit with the one I just replaced. It’s not even waterproof.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 3rd Solenoid Replacement I agree with other poor reviews on this product and the bogus warranty. I just replaced this solenoid for the 3rd time after doing all the suggested troubleshooting (cleaning it, new batteries). I purchased the last one (OEM EP74854) 2 years ago from Amazon for $151. This one cost me $221...46% increase in two years! I tried to get Amazon to replace the last one under warranty, but they directed me to Delta. Delta rep said that since my faucet is 15 years old, the part is not covered under warranty. If the faucet was 5 years old or less, it would be covered. Does that make sense?! Delta, warranty this part for 5 years if you stand by your product! We just remodeled our master bath and chose another brand for shower and sinks...Delta, you missed out on ~$900 in new revenue. When this solenoid goes out again in 2-3 years, I'll replace the entire faucet with another brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 20 year old faucet again working like new Have one of the first Touch2O kitchen faucets and the old solenoid went out after 20+ years. Called customer service and they were great, walked me through troubleshooting, sent a connector free so the faucet could be used manually, but I opted to buy a replacement solenoid. Bought the wrong one and customer service again helped me figure out the problem, got the correct one and our faucet is working like new again. The faucet has been great for 2 decades and the fact that customer service still supports a product that old, and does it so well, that impresses.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 3rd solenoid replacement. Very disappointed I bought this faucet when they first came out and this is the third solenoid I've had to replace on it. What a joke!

It appears the LED light function has changed. On my old assembly it was blue when running and turned red when the batteries are low. Now it appears to run red for hot and blue for cold. How am I supposed to know when the batteries are getting low?

Asked by: JEC239
Thank you for your inquiry, JEC239! The LED light on the base of the Touch2O faucet will flash a red light when the batteries are getting low. Best regards, Tanya

Will the LED light work on our very old Pilar 980T-SS-DST? Current light turns blue when water flows. We've never seen "Red" light up because we never let batteries get low. Many with very old faucets say LED doesn't work after upgrade to EP74854.

Asked by: AZMedia
Hello AZMedia, Thank you for your question! I am happy to assist you! The Delta EP74854 is the correct replacement solenoid for the 980T-DST. This solenoid assembly will still allow the LED light to operate, so long as the LED base is not defective. Please contact us back with any further questions. Best Regards, Skyler

What do I remove from "top" hose to be able to reconnect hose and bypass the solenoid to get the water running?

Asked by: George
Hello George, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! I am sorry this information was not readily available, and I am happy to help you! The easiest way to make our Delta touch models manual is to remove the battery box from the solenoid while the water is running. There are a couple more ways we can advise to make them manual, If the faucet is a later generation, the solenoid assembly may be removed, and the wand hose connected directly to the valve outlet tube. Lastly, If the solenoid Generation 1 or 2, and operational enough, we can directly energize it open. These directions are in the M&Is, using the battery pack to reverse the power to the solenoid momentarily. This is the least preferred method. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to serve you. Please contact us back with any further questions. Best Regards, Nicole

My solenoid X00080377 works sporadically, comes on when not touched, doesn't turn off when touched. Do I need to replace the solenoid? Which one is the replacement?

Asked by: rlbruce34
Hi rlbruce34, Thank you for your question! Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing. We are happy to help! An issue with reacting to touch is often an issue with something interfering with the wires under the sink. I recommend placing the battery pack flat on the floor and separating the wires 2" from any other pipes or cords. To troubleshoot if the issue is caused by the solenoid, disconnect the clip from the faucet and touch the wire or clip directly. You should hear a click reliably and see the indicator light change. See a video here: https://support.deltafaucet.com/s/article/How-to-Troubleshoot-a-Delta-Kitchen-Faucet-with-Touch2O-Technology-1628025862981 A replacement solenoid for X00080377 is part number EP92546XX. https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts/product/EP92546XX.html Please reach out with any additional questions!
