PRODUCT FEATURES
The solenoid assembly enables your Delta Touch2O® pull-down kitchen faucet. It senses your touch and shows the water temperature. Consider replacing this part if you notice either of these two issues: The faucet keeps dripping until you move the handle to OFF, even after you’ve flushed the system. Or Touch activation works only sometimes, and you’ve already ruled out other causes (improper installation, metal shank touching the sink, loose wires, battery pack in the wrong spot, or tapping the faucet incorrectly).
  • To ensure compability with your faucet, location a sticker on the solenoid assembly with a part number. Part numbers that work with this replacement solenoid are X00090221, X00090219, X00074950, or X00070887(pulldown).
  • EP74855 is compatible with faucets with the following finishes: Arctic Stainless (AR), Black Stainless (KS), Champagne Bronze (CZ), Chrome, Lumicoat® (PR), or Polished Nickel (PN)
  • EP74855XXis for a faucet with the finish Matte Black (BL), Matte White (MW), Spotshield® Stainless (SP), or Venetian Bronze (RB)
  • Backed by Delta Faucet's Electronics 5-year Limited Warranty

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap parts This faucet has been installed for 10 years. I’ve replaced this ensemble once, and it has now failed again with 2 years. I’ll go back to kosher - the idea of a touch faucet is wonderful - until it’s not. Ridiculous design and parts replacement policy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement of solenoid on soft touch faucet Replacement solenoid was easy to install and came with very good instructions. Customer service was excellent and the purchase of the solenoid on line was easy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Planned obsolescence After about two years of use, I am constantly having to replace batteries and the touch feature is hit and miss at best. I purchased the faucet before I replaced my counter and sink. So it sat in the box for a while. I installed it just about five years ago and it developed the issues at five years and one month! Of course, it is out of factory warranty. I doubt it is worth changing the $200 for replacement parts that I guess it needs. I am not going to pay a plumber $100+ to tell me what is guessed to be the problem. Then pay for the part and installation. That would be over the cost to replace it with a new one. So I will have to bad-mouth this brand and change over to a better brand name faucet unless they want to help me out with the cost of the parts. But I doubt they will...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Another failure inside of 10 years I got 6 years from my solenoid, which is slightly better than most in the comments. If Delta wants to design this as a consumable product, it needs to be dirt cheap to replace. The solenoid should be removable from the case and wires. I don't need all those parts, just the $6 Chinese solenoid in this thing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Solenoid Replacement AGAIN Solenoid Replacement AGAIN.. I replaced the solenoid now already and guess what, now I have to replace it again because despite changing the batteries (very frequently) the touch function doesn't work. and the cost of the solenoid and close to $200! If I call a plumber to replace, that's another $150 for a visit. Might as well get brand new touch faucet and maybe not from Delta! I actually have the email where I ordered the same part before!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I needed My Delta touch kitchen faucet had been leaking. Our plumber told us what he needed to fix it. I called Delta and got the part number and was told where to purchase it. So easy and fast.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from You’re only going to get 4 years performance…👎🏼 When my home was 4 years old I had to replace the solenoid. Well, guess what? My home is now 8 years old and you guessed it! I’m having to replace the solenoid again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Less than two years old solonoid fails Had to bypass the touch controls due to a bad solonoid and find the replacement is nearly $200. Terrible. Last Delta well be buying.

Q&A

What is the part difference between "EP74855" and "EP74855XX" in the parts information spec sheet. My faucet is 19933T-SPSD-DST, and calls for EP74855XX. Confusing

Hello. Is EP74855 a replacement for RP64462?

Asked by: Brett
Thank you for your question, Brett! The EP74855 Solenoid Assembly is the correct replacement for RP64462. Please note that the EP74855 will have added features such as temperature indication via the light base (blue for cold, magenta for warm, red for hot). The light will flash red when the faucet is turned on or off if the batteries need to be replaced. Best regards, Jon

Replaced the solenoid part number x00090221 a year and a half ago. Now works intermittently, sometimes actuating inconsistently despite secure connections, replacing batteries, reattaching under counter clip. New solenoid? Seems should last longer.

I have a kitchen faucet from 2014 X00074950, and I’ve already replaced two solenoids in the past. I’m now looking to purchase a third one, as they tend to fail quickly. Can the EP74855 model be connected to a 9V AC adapter in addition to batteries?

Asked by: Dror

How do I disable the solenoid for temporary use

Asked by: Norman
Thank you for your question, Norman! The Touch2O feature can be disabled by disconnecting the battery box while the water is running. If necessary, the solenoid can also be removed and the hose connected directly to the faucet using the hose clip. Best regards, Jon

Will this work for a replacement for Part No EP92546 as listed in the manual for the Dominc faucet with Spot Shield Stainless finish (Model 19940TX-SPSD-SDT)?

Asked by: Jimmy537
Hi, Jimmy537! Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the Delta EP74855 solenoid will not work as a replacement for the EP92546. The 19940TX-SPSD-DST has a smaller shank and the wider c-clip on the EP74855 will not fit this. Best Regards, Rosanna
