Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent modular rough-in for body sprays This is great. Plumber installed it in new shower, and the rough-in comes in with a plastic cover, so the hanger and the tiler can work without worrying about damage because this is only the rough-in piece. I also like that there are no other parts except for the solid brass piece. Everything else goes in after installing the shower tiles, so in the event that something needs to be fixed, or want to change the finish, this will stay as-is.

Q&A

Does the mounting flange on the R50200 have to be verticle, or can it be horizontal?

Asked by: Big Daddy
Hi Big Daddy, Thank you for your question. The valve may be installed horizontally. Best regards, Jon

The valve was roughed in to far back. Is there some sort of extension kit or a deeper body spray that will work for this.

Asked by: Nick
Unfortunately no we had to cut in to the wall and move it forward. It was a huge pain and I haven’t use that valve since.

Can the body spray rough in R50200 be mounted with the water supply line inlet pointing up instead of down?

Asked by: Kevin
Thank you for your question, Kevin! Although possible, we recommend installing these types of roughs with a pressure balance loop for adequate pressure to all of the body spray systems. This will work best with the rough-ins installed as shown in the installation manual below and would depend on the PSI to the system as well as how many other products water will need to be diverted to. If you have any further questions on this, please feel free to contact us directly. https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/75391%20Rev%20D.pdf Best regards, Edward

I purchased the R50200 rough-in valve and the 50150 body spray. The rough-in valve opening is significantly larger than the 1/2" connector for the body spray. Both are female connections. Am I missing an adapter or is this the wrong rough-in valve?

Asked by: soppliger
Thank you for your question, soppliger! I'm sorry for any confusion and we would be happy to help. The 50150 body spray trim includes all necessary components and is meant to install directly to 1/2" male threaded pipe fitting to extend 1/4" beyond the finished surface. The HydraChoice rough-in R50200 is to be used with models (T50010 or T50210) and spray heads (SH5000, SH5002, SH5003, or SH5005). https://www.deltafaucet.com/search-results?searchTerm=HydraChoice#resultPage=0&offset=0 Best regards, Edward

good afternoon. in your installation instructions you recomend "balance loops". I'm wondering what will happen without them?

The homeowner wanted a 4 jet square layout with the on/off temp adjust valve and diverter valve in the center
Asked by: MICHAEL
Hi Michael, Thank you for your question. We recommend using balance loops to help ensure that each body spray gets an equal amount of pressure. Without the balance loops, some sprays may have better flow than others. Best regards, Jon

Surface of the finished wall

Referring to the R50200 Installation Guide, is the surface of the finished wall referring to the back of the finished wall (backer board) or the front of the wall (tiled)? Also, what does the stud face referring to? The open wall width is 3-1/2" and I calculate that my finished wall thickness will be 7/8". I'm trying to calculate where to place the stringer back plate to mount the shower body spray.
Asked by: mxplea10
Hi Mxplea10, Thank you for your question! The finished wall the instructions is referring to is the tile. Also, the face of the stud is the very front of the stud. Best regards, Brandis
