Rated 3 out of 5 by from Finally I found this part number!!! I'm working on an older Delta faucet in our kitchen. Couldn't get the bonnet nut off so I have to cut it off. According to the manual I needed part #RP50PB. I searched everywhere but it had been discontinued. Accidently ran across review on another website saying part #RP1050PB was the exact same part minus the adjusting ring. So on Delta's website why didn't it tell me the part was discontinued but could be replaced with this new number??? It would have saved me a lot of time. Very frustrating!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much better than the original [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] On the original there were some serrations but nothing to really grip the nut if it was stuck, and they always are. The new ones have a shoulder which allows you to get a better grip with out damaging the nut.

Plastic adjustment included with this nut

Is the plastic adjustment that fits in this nut included. The adjustment that determines the force placed on the valve / ball?
Asked by: mikech
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP1050 does not include the adjusting ring. If you need a cap with an adjusting ring, then we recommend purchasing RP50 from your local wholesaler or retailer.

What are the dimensions? Will this fit a shower faucet?

I have a house built in the '80s and need to replace the bonnet nut on the shower faucet (which has a knob and a ball). Can't find the exact bonnet nut anywhere but this one looks pretty similar. Dimensions, please? thx.
Asked by: BDor
Hi BDor, Thank you for your question. If your shower has a ball assembly, you have a 600 series unit. This cap will work with any Delta 600 series shower. The cap is 1 11/16" in diameter, and the opening is 1 1/16". Best regards, Jon

Can I use RP1050 bonnet nut on a series 1600 scald guard shower faucet that is 43 years old? If not, what is correct part number and is it available?

Asked by: Kenneth
Thank you for your question, Kenneth! The RP1050 bonnet nut will not work on this model as the 1600 has a different sized valve body. The correct part number for your bonnet is RP6079 which is still available for purchase. https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP6079 Best regards, Edward

Has this faucet ever been available in a "Brushed Nickel" finish? Trying to match a replacement RP1050 - thanks

Hi Rusty, Thank you for your question. The RP1050 has never been offered in the brushed nickel finish. The (SS) brilliance stainless finish of the RP1050SS is a brushed finish similar to other brands brushed nickel. Thanks, Dave

What sets the tension on the ball with this type bonnet?

Asked by: Larry
Hello Larry, Thank you for your question! I will be happy to assist. RP1050 is used with a lot of our older faucets as well as our newer ones. With the older faucets there was a piece called the adjusting ring which pushes the cam and packing on the ball to seal the parts. The cam and packing since then has been updated and now is a little thicker, therefore; the adjusting ring is no longer needed. Your feedback is important to us, as it helps us refine our products and services. Feel free to contact us directly, if you need further assistance. Best Regards, Kyra

I am having problems removing bonnet from vanity  Venetian handle .   There is no way to hold assembly under sink to allow proper torque on bonnet, without entire assembly spinning beneath.  I can only hold stem under sink in my hand while trying to turn.

Asked by: Daniel
Hello, Thank you for your question! We recommend wrapping a cloth soaked in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water around the bonnet for a few hours to allow the mineral build-up within the threads to break down. This is typically what can cause removal to be difficult. Please reach out with further questions! Best Regards, Tim Digital Communications Specialist Please reach out with further questions! Will the RP1050Ss fit the older Delta 600 Series Shower valve? Also, when I look at older bonnet, there appears to be another ring inside of the bonnet. Ring has slots for wrench. So.....is there another piece to order? Thanks.

Asked by: Mike
Hi Mike, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP1050SS. Yes, this bonnet nut fits 600 series showers. The bonnet or cap plus the RP250 adjusting ring is RP50. The cam assembly RP188 is often also replaced for maintenance. If using a new cam assembly, the adjusting ring is not needed and can be removed. Also, a renovation kit for a 600 series is available as RP54870 which also includes a new handle and escutcheon plate. Please reach out with any additional questions!
