Does delta make a harder set of washers for old houses that have galv. pipe shavings coming up the line?

Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP10700 Ceramic Seats & Seals. We will be happy to assist you as quickly as possible.
We would not recommend using a faucet with metal shavings in the water. The RP10700 seat and spring are used with the RP42216 ceramic stem assembly which replaces and is more durable than the RP24096 stem and RP4993 rubber seat and spring.

Does the ceramic seat face rubber side up or down?

Do the 10700 seats get installed with the O-ring face-up or down?

I spoke to a rep in your office to ask if the Delta T17052-SS 17 Series Valve SKU#518256 has a ceramic cartridge. I was told no but I can order RP10700 ceramic seats and seals.From everything I read, the RP10700 is not meant for that valve. Please confirm

Correct, the RP10700 ceramic seats and springs are only designed for use with certain faucets, not shower cartridges. Model T17052-SS can only utilize the RP4993 seats and springs found in the RP46073 repair kit.
